I was sitting at home clean out my room and I decided to hook up my N64. I turned it on and it didn't work. I was upset. Then I figured I'd try a different game, no go. I tried every single game I owned NONE of them worked. I get to the last one and BINGO it lights up... except the only game that still worked was Perfect Dark and I don't have an expansion pack, I could play multiplayer but I absolutely hate it.

hahaha thanks, that brought a chuckle to my face. Anywho... don't feel bad, the 360 is a younger system and has a higher failure rate.

This has happened to my friend's N64 when we recently hooked up after years of inactivity to play Blitz.
Try moving/bending some of the wires or just keep hitting the power switch to see if it starts with the other games.
Granted, it gets annoying after a while and has a 15% rate of actually turning on, which is why I'm currently looking for another N64 online.
That, or you could always download the emulator for free.

This has happened to my friend's N64 when we recently hooked up after years of inactivity to play Blitz. The only reason I took it out was because I saw Blitz in the pile. Took some of the cotton stick things with saliva and cleaned the cartridge, got a crap load of green corroded looking stuff out of it. It worked! Better yet my 9 year old nephew loves it, makes me proud. I can't stand the shitty games some kids, including him, play these days. Sadly the only other good game I have left is Starfox and it didn't fire up. Makes me miss the good ol' days when I was tearing it up with Goldeneye and Ocarina among others. On an up note, Blitz is still as much fun as I remember.

On an up note, Blitz is still as much fun as I remember. Use isopropyl rubbing alcohol (the stuff that's 70% or whatever) instead of your spit/saliva. It's what Nintendo told me to use to clean out my carts when my then-new NES stopped working after about a month. Plus, it's less corrosive and doesn't leave a film on the contacts. Trust me, I feel your pain....I tried to play Donkey Kong 64 two weeks ago and it would either freeze up or the sound would cut out after about five minutes of play.

I think I'd cry if that happened to me, but it'd be even worse if it was my SNES games that wouldn't work.

Need a hug? Deadpool could give you a hug.
Seriously, though, that sucks.

Great. I recently unearthed my N64 (the cool blue Pokemon one too) and had to order a new power cord. Nice to see once I get it it probably won't work.

I read that to the Fresh Prince theme.

^It kind of fit some parts of the beat/rythm/or w/e. Yeah I also pulled out my NES today (Two actually, the first one didn't work) with like 20 games. It was a horrible horrible experience. But Megaman 2 and Super Mario 3 made up for the nightmare. Edit: Also the shaking technique someone posted a video of on here. Totally f***ing works! Well far better than any other method.

That one has NOTHING to do with the topic at hand really, I just wanted to be a participant in the Monster Ballads posting.. cuz truly even a $lim has his soft side.
Though I still smirk even when showing said attitude.. it's genetic.

Yeah, I've had my heart broken too. One time my girlfriend started smurfing another guy at a party while I was in the next room.
But yeah. Your precious N64 doesn't work. So sorry!
Just joking. I'd take Banjo-Kazooie over that skank any day.

I sold my N64 and all of my games to a poor woman for her kids for 100 dollars 7 years ago. And I haven't played an N64 since.
