Ladies and Gentlemen, I present to you. Stairway to Heaven. as performed by Dolly Parton. Fun Fact*: Every time this song is played, a puppy dies. * = not a fact. What the f*** did I just watch?

In before "Avril Lavigne - Fuel".
Seems that always comes up in these threads.
I nominate Cake's "I Will Survive" and that Disney poptart (who's name I don't remember, nor do I care to) who covered "Never Gonna Give You Up."

My standard answer whenever this subject comes up... Winner Oh god yes. Even worse than Sheryl Crow's cover of that Led Zepplin song, Dy'er Maker or whatever it was called. And then there was that joke Avril Lavigne did when she covered Chop Suey ...

As others in this thread already proved, just because you have a legend mixed with a legendary tune, doesn't mean it will work.
Take "Hey Jude" by Bing Crosby(!)

This makes me legitimately angry. Don't worry, that's a natural reaction to BFMV.

Easiest song in the world and they still screw it up. Badly. First, the real version.
Now the abomination.

I nominate Cake's "I Will Survive" I actually prefer that to the original every time. I'll go with Metallica's Misfits covers, and their cover of "53rd and 3rd" by the Ramones. But perhaps the biggest offender to me is James Taylor doing "Everyday" by Buddy Holly. Before I just started listening to my ipod all day at work, I would actually leave the work area whenever this came on the radio.

1) you don't do that to Foreigner 2) I f***ing hate Mariah Carey Well, since her entire career has been based around veritable armies of writers, producers and handlers managing every syllable of her songs, horrific covers weren't much of a stretch for her. Can you also count the approximately 15,000 hip hop redux versions of her early '90s hits as covers as well? If so, add those to the list. I'll join you on the f***ing hate Mariah Carey club, my friend.

Staind - "Bring The Noise" Wait, you're saying Aaron Lewis, the whitest of white boys, actually busts some rhymes? That sounds so bad I almost have to hear it though my ears would probably commit suicide. And I know Nu-Metal isn't that original but couldn't they come up with a rap song that wasn't already covered by a metal band and probably done better?
