Be it an episode or a whole series I love everything that deals with time travel, timeloops and alternate realities.
Fans complain about them but it's my favorites.

Not limited to Sci Fi, but the stormtrooper effect is probably my favourite.

You kill the evil villan.... but it was only his Clone/Shadow/Android/DoomBot/Puppet/Face-Man.
Now you have to deal with the real villian.... maybe. It's probably another Clone/Shadow/Android/DoomBot/Puppet/Face-Man.

Anything involving robots running rampant, or post-apocalyptic settings seem to grab my interest.

well they aren't black, but Ronan and D'Argo fill the "warrior alien" thing too
the arrogant/sassy/smarmy smuggler type
the "obvious alien" thres always about one or aliens in sci fi shows that don't just look human with some slight alterations Rygel, the volrons, Yoda are examples
then theres the polar opposaite were in some cases they are alien simply because of a slight difference (bajorans with wrinkled noses )

I love the shows/movies where the spaceship is a total custom job. Where its the best ship in the Universe when it's running at 100%... but most of the time it's at about 40% capacity because something is always broken.
Because it's that way in real life.

Warp, slipstream, hyperspace, that thing in Outlaw Star. Basically any science-fiction ship has an ability to go really fast. so why doesn't it do that speed in the first place and then you wouldn't have to talk about it or have a special button for it.

I'm a big visuals junkie so I always go crazy for those long pan shots of spaceships and/or futuristic cities/fantasy cities (like Lord Of The Rings). Usually they are accompanied by good "powerful" music on the score. You will see this a lot in many sci-fi films and they get me every time. They're like porn to me. I love them.
I love time-travel stories and anything with a big evil villain that will take over the universe if not defeated...

The post-apocalyptic future where there's garbage everywhere, a few brokedown Chryslers or Oldsmobiles here and there, and let's not forget some crumbling skyscrapers.

"There are too many of them!"
Also obligatory is the "what measure is a human?" android or two, and some being or force that is ambiguously perhaps a deity.

"What is this Earth emotion you call........love?" Unintentional hilarity.
Also, when the big bad alien race that causes havoc wherever they go are thwarted by the simplest thing like the common cold or Slim Whitman.

The rookie fresh out of the Academy ends up saving the day ...
And hot chicks that can kick your ass.
I also like when it's the ragtag group that gets thrown together to face the odds, and they do so admirably.
