Passion for wrestling unlike most others, loyalty to it, committed...he lives, breaths, eats, etc. wrestling. It shows. How many people has he injured? I could be wrong, but he could be one the safest people to work with...besides his own injuries... only one i remember is Randy Orton during their LMS match. also he will always finish his match. more than once he's had a horrible injury but instead of sitting it out goes along with everything and finished the match. he was once in the walls of jericho after his first injury just to keep it going. dude seriously cares about the business

He's commited. Think, Stephanie could 've married another wrestler and they'd probably still get an inappropriate amount of TV time. As much as he gets tiresome and can seem to be "phoning it in" at times, he's real solid. There's not one aspect of being a successful wrestler he doesn't have command of. He takes good care of himself, can work, can talk, can sell, is capable of portraying numerous character variants, etc. He gets hate because he gets booked meh for the most part. If used right, Trips is fine.

I know some people want to defend Triple H, believe me, I do defend a lot of people when I feel they should be defended. I think it's because of the hate he's been getting, but recently, it's been justified. He's been very unprofessional on television, I mean, backstage reporting is one thing, but to be unprofessional on live television is a whole different story altogether. And that was my recent issue with him. WWE is at a time where people are talking about WWE needing to create new stars, and Triple H on live television buries two of them. And, the excuses are it wasn't that bad, or who cares about Cody and Ted, and blah blah blah. It's ignoring the fact that what he did was unprofessional.
The whole point I'm trying to make is this. Despite this, despite the fact that he's been somewhat unprofessional lately, and all over television, Triple H is one of the best wrestlers ever. Triple H has pro wrestling down to a science, and has a great mind for wrestling. One reason he's stayed on top for so long is his passion, and that can never be taken away. If he ends up taking over the company (and doesn't have the Dusty syndrome) he can really help WWE out a lot. One reason he's given the ball so much, is he isn't going to screw it up. He has so much riding on his ability, kinda like how back in the AWA, Verne Gagne had the belt on himself, or Carlos Colon and Dusty Rhodes were the top stars in their territories. It's because, they have the most to lose, so who better to trust the company with then your son-in-law, who has an insane passion for wrestling.
Triple H can outwork almost everyone in WWE, TNA and ROH. He could work with anyone and have a good match.

Never got the whole "unprofessional" thing, myself. Just took it as part of his on-screen jock-like character and how he would react in that situation. I highly doubt the whole "ow...ow" thing was something he just decided to do on a whim just because - especially considering in every other aspect of the business whether it be interacting with fans, selling, avoiding vices and what have you he's shown himself to be anything but unprofessional. And the reason I give it to him so easily is because Triple H gets wrestling characters. He always came across as fully indulged into his wrestling character such as when he was a heel and he'd be doing a promo with Stephanie, The Rock, Austin, Booker, whoever; he really made the audience buy that he was such a dastardly guy with every little thing he did. I'm not saying this reverses any harm that was done, but I believe this is the reason and certainly not because he actually intended to harm their stature or "bury" Legacy, if you will. But that's just my stance on how things went down anyway. I really like those coloured trunks he used to wear around 2003 and I'm not sure why they didn't last longer.

the BOW thingy he does at 2:26 Boy what I wouldn't give to be in that chatroom when nerdy announcer Vince McMahon went "on-line" in 1995. But yeah, looking back; that match and the people in it and commentating it all ended up crossing paths many-a-time in the future. Certainly very cool and coincidental.
