Nah, he's got few world titles to collect before he supplants Edge in that role. Which is not to say that Edge ain't awesome, cuz he is, but for the last few years-- 'someone's hurt/out/whatever' here comes the ultimate opportunist..
He sort of has supplanted Edge in that role, really, but in a way that almost reminds me more of early Face Edge than current Edge. When Edge comes back though, things will probably change in that regard for Morrison.
He still needs Doors entrance music though.
I originally didn't like the switchover from Nitro to Morrison because of how abrupt it was. It's not like it had any sort of build that really contributed to it, which I would've enjoyed, but it was just so sudden and arbitrary and I had feared originally that it was going to be a drastic gimmick repackaging. Instead, it just gave him a much better character for which to do promos (which has been a much-needed crutch because honestly, he's one of my all-time favorites, but I think he's not a natural with promos as guys like Edge or Jericho are) but he also retained his moveset--with a few needed additions--and his good old ring attire.
In essence, it wasn't a repackage, but rather, a mere upgrade. I didn't see that at first, but at this point, I'm really glad that it happened.
