Is that the closest Dave Meltzer has ever been to Vince McMahon? Meltzer actually worked for WWF in the late 80's as a liaison between WWF and the Japan. Also, Vince has on occasion had a civil relationship with him when it suited his purposes. That said, as the most famous Wrestling news guy, Meltzer often gets unfairly lumped in with the "Newz" guys a lot. But that's so far from the truth. He's actually a respected journalist amongst the actual wrestlers. The only people who really don't care for the guy publicly are Hogan and Ole Anderson.

Is that the closest Dave Meltzer has ever been to Vince McMahon? Sadly yes. The restraining order was ordered by Judge Wapner three weeks after the taping of this episode. THe better question is How does Davew Meltzer live that mullet down? As long as I'm on these forums.....NEVER "Ladies and gentlemen of the studio audience...I'm just a caveman. Your modern world frightens me."

I feel bad for Vince here. Vince was man enough to go on the show, when he could have just opted to say no. Obviously a lot of stuff was being pinned on him that wasn't true or wasn't his fault, but yet he wasn't given much of a chance to respond. How he kept from slapping Superstar during some of that had to be an exercise in zen with McMahon's temperment at times. I feel like a lot of times people act like Vince is an all knowing all seeing God in the wrestling industry, when he's not. As he said, the stuff Barry Orton was talking about happened before he worked with the company, and honestly what goes on between two grown men is their business. If no charges were brought against Garvin, how was Vince supposed to know about it? And if he did, could Garvin have been a changed man? Vince was put on the stake here, and I'm glad to see he weathered through it and showed why he is a truly great businessman.

He's always professional even when he's bashing you on something. I also watched this whole show recently and Meltzer came off more informative than Vince, and he called Vince on somethings right to his face. So this hide behind a keyboard thing is truly bulls***. I also think Dave knows more about wrestling than Vince, it's pretty evident if you talk to them about it. Dave seems to know more about the history and what works. I do however find it funny every time Bruno and Vince find themselves in the same room or show all hell breaks loose. They just can't talk to each other.

And Vince has experienced pretty much everything. I feel bad for Vince here. Vince was man enough to go on the show, when he could have just opted to say no. Yeah, I think he's really lucky that Donahue actually had some common sense and was able to apply it to this situation when it came to the end of the show. Still, it's easy to see why Vince hasn't appeared on many similar shows since then.

I say just make it a free-for-all, no edits roast featuring Bret Hart, Harley Race, Eric Bischoff, Paul Heyman, Jeff Jarrett, Mike McGuirk, Jesse Ventura, Bruno Sammartino, with the grand finale being the introduction of Randy Savage, who has an "intimate conversation" with Vince and debuts his newest rap single. For fun, Ultimate Warrior could M.C.

Saying Dave Meltzer knows more about wrestling than McMahon is like saying that Helen Thomas knows more about being the President than [current President]. It's just silly.

A lot think Meltz is just some nerd, when he's probably built better and healthier than 40 precent of wrestlers on the WWE roster right now. Why do so many people hate him when he's just reporting stuff and giving his opinion anyway? As for him knowing more about wrestling than Vince...Eh, it's hard to say. Does he more about who wrestled who, or how good a match was, or what angle was hot and worked? Sure. Does he know more about marketing and the business end of the...er...business? Probably not. In the end it's just comparing apples to footballs.

Well, I strongly resent people using this footage of Superstar Billy Graham and then refering to him in the present tense. Billy was a totally different person back then than he is now. I wish I could find the footage of present day Billy Graham talking about his appearence on this show and talking about how it was a low point in his life, how he lied, and how he had no excuse and hopw he apologized and all.

No he's still the same bitter old douche bag that he was back then remember he sold his Hall Of Fame ring on E-bay all because Vince released him from his lucrative $248,000 a year contract for doing nothing. That was 5 years worth of undeserved paychecks for sitting on his ass, so who do you think got the worse end of that Billy or Vince? I'd say Vince, why he decided to do business with him again I'll never know.

In the end it's just comparing apples to footballs. Anyone who thinks Meltzer is a "Newz" guy needs to read the Tributes books--the most comprehensive wrestling bio book ever written on the stars taken before their time. Unlike others, the guy isn't sitting back making up false rumors like the McMahon ball-lickers all think. He has legitimate sources in the business that tell him certain things—and based on that source's agenda, or the company flat-out changing their minds, sometimes there’s errors. But that’s the nature of the beast. Meltzer is still more accurate than wrong. The guy is a walking wrestling dictionary with an almost savant base knowledge of every aspect of wrestling history and "not just anybody" can do his job like certain imbeciles like to think. The only bad thing I'll say about him is that his life seems to be ALL wrestling and MMA, and thus, he is living in kind of a bubble. But to bemoan the guy like he's some dweeb on their Mom's computer is completely misinformed. He's wrestling's only respected journalist, like it or not. And that doesn't change because on occasion some of his information knocks the silly rose-tinted glasses off certain people's faces. Wrestling is full of politics and assholes. And sometimes your favorite IS a dickhead. That doesn't mean you have to stop liking him. I like Christian Bale. But dude's an asshole. But I can still respect his work. Wrestling fans need to grow the same thick skin. " But I like HHH! He can't have a paranoid agenda based on the fact that he ate shit for years and struggled his way to the top, and now he's irrationally paranoid to lose his position because of everything he went through!"

I'd say Vince, why he decided to do business with him again I'll never know. Atleast he went to, and accepted, a Hall Of Fame induction, unlike Bruno Sammartino. He also stuck up for Mcmahon, against Bruno Sammartino that is, in defending him during the benoit tragedy. He made 248,000 a year? You know this how? So if WWE just fired Droz right now (which they didn't but everyone made an uproar when they thought they did) it would be perferctly OK just because they have little practical use for him even though he crippled himself working for them? Mabe he was told he's be set for life, and that they (WWE) wouldn't put practicality over principal. Likewize, if Droz would be justified in being angry (which, according to the intenet, he would) I don't see how Superstar wouldn't be considered justified, by the internet that is, under the same grounds, for being angry. If that is all true, I'd look at it as nothing more than a very angry Superstar Billy Graham for getting the shaft, but certainly not comparable to a guy who would lie on national tv about his former boss hiring child molesters and doing nothing about molestations going on backstage.
