I laughed my head off at this year's HoF ceremony during Austin's speech. He paused and one lone fan screamed "WHAT?!" Classic.

I'm stunned nobody (unless it's happened and I missed it) has gone for the childish "homo say" before the "what" chant.

"WHAT" is one of the single worst things ever "contributed" to wrestling. So ridiculously stupid. Agreed 100%. The stupid f***ing chant has ruined many a good promo. I detest every idiot who has participated in it.

One of the most repulsive habits of modern wrestling fans is the "WHAT" chant. It's incredibly disrespectful to the performers (although not as much as trash bombardment and those snorking laser pointers). Thankfully it finally appears to be dying off.
(years after Stone Cold left and far far FAR removed from the original context, but who cares. IT'S NEARLY GONE!!!)

Couldn't find any videos of it but Scott Hall had fun with the what chants when he came back to feud with Austin.

I do feel the "WHAT?" chant can be annoying, but it's not like it came out of nowhere and fans just started doing. The biggest guy on the roster encouraged the fans to do it!
Granted, Austin isn't even here any more, but I guess it's still a popular chant. Ziggler got a few what chants at Breaking Point iirc.
If superstars/fans/whoever find it annoying then it shouldn't have been given to Austin of all people in the first place, imo.

It's like how, of all things, one of Austin's mannerisms as a heel lived well into his face turn, him listening to an imaginary watch.

I dont have a problem with it myself it its directed at someone like Vince or the biggest heel in the company but the crowd seemed to do it to almost everyone who spoke on the Mic.But i like it better then the likes of "You cant Wrestle" or such things.

The only time I took part in a What chant was when Koslov wrestled at a house show and tired to cut a promo and you really couldn't understand what he was saying

I don't think I could hold a chant against anyone, other than when TNA crowds start chanting "This is awesome" 30 seconds into a match. See No Surrender.
Though the "Ole" thing they do in Canada should only be done if followed by a crowd-wide rendition of Hot Hot Hot.

I think Undertaker cornered the market here.

I think Undertaker cornered the market here. Unless Samuel L. Jackson hosts Raw and gets a What chant, I'd say. Quote's okay in context, but pulling it on an entire arena of people? Amazing.
