DX/Legacy Yes, DX won the "series" 2-1, but Legacy was made to look like a million bucks all 3 times. Legacy got their victory clean, and niether DX win was the squash that everyone predicted beforehand. Honestly, if that's not putting someone over, I dont know what is This. But seen as this is the internet, somehow DX buried them

Triple H gave Batista the rub and made him a main eventer by losing to him at 3 straight PPVs including a HIAC match.

Well we all thought DX was gonna give it to Legacy but I guess now they are back to rubbing only each other. When JBL encountered Duke the Dumpster drosse in the shower.

Legacy have come out of this looking stronger than they went it. Possibly, the feud might still have some legs in it yet too.

Foley was instrumental in making people, not just HHH. See also: Edge. It's possible to give a rub to someone in many different ways, not just by lying down clean in a one-on-one match. Undertaker gave Maven the rub by being eliminated by him at the Rumble, and also arguably gave Hardy the rub by actually selling his offense in that first ladder match and making it not a total squash. DX arguably gave Miz & Morrison the rub when they sold a ton of offense and let Morrison hit Sweet Chin Music on Michaels (DX won anyway). This. Giving the rub isn't always doing the job, just like losing isn't always being buried. To me, if the marks can come away saying of a match where their hero won, "wow, that was close" then the heel got the rub. If, however, one competitor eitehr stops selling for no apparent reason (not in a Hogan sense, in a "wait, what was that about a leg inury" way) or sells the wrong body part, that can do more damage than any loss ever could.
