I'm sure this may come off as negative, but it's honestly more of a question. Does WWE's creative team not realize that they've, in essence, cut their own legs out?
You have Orton lose to Cena and be denied any future title shots against him, on a show where he is the sole main event heel. DX is busy with Jerishow, so you HAVE to elevate someone, but no one in the midcard has been made to look like they're even on Cena's level. This means you hotshot someone and hope they gain credibility or go face/face for the short term while...well, while nothing.
Let's say the idae of elevating Ted and turning him face goes forward, which would serve to give Ted the credibility he needs. Great, but he's a face, so unless you turn one or both DX members heel, the lopsidedness only gets worse.
Take it to SD, where Taker is the champ, and a face, but is understandably limited thanks to the wear and tear over the years. Beyond that, your only currently ME face is Rey, which worled so beautifully last time.
They could elvate Morrison, sure, but that kinda neuters the midcard,.
What this all boils down to is, it seems that WWE's craetive teams as a whole are determined to have RAW and SD as lopsided as hell, with an "all against one" mentality on both shows. One main event heel on the flaship, and one credible ME face on SD who is limited by injuries.

Let's wait until we see where they are going before criticising their decisions.
I'm sure 80% of the criticism WWE gets on the internet is about stuff they might do.

Theyre basically going to redo the evolution storyline.
Ted will get the title of Cena, but Cena will expect him to give it to him, thus leading to a Ted V Orton feud.

You fail to see the possible good in your pessimistic scenario. This might force the WWE to elevate some of their mid-carders to the main event.

Sometime after the DX Invasion tour I reckon Triple-H will turn heel. Perhaps at Survivor Series.
Could be that we have a face/face title feud for a little while. I could see Cena giving Kofi Kingston a title shot after his help last night.
Or they might give Swagger a title shot or two.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if Cena/Orton gets dragged out at least another month by having them lead rival teams against each other at Survivor Series.
Alternatively, Cena could always put over that young up 'n comer, Triple H. He needs to be built up with some more major victories.

Cena can probably do some Face vs Face matches with Triple H or Michaels. Maybe some midcarders on the up and up like Swagger, MVP, or Mark Henry. I guess it remains to be seen.

Poor Orton. Remember when he was told he would not get any title shots against Triple H as long as Triple H was champion? How many did he still manage to get after that ruling? I find the "no more title shots" stipulation to be slightly lower on the rung of importance in wrestling than the "retire forever" stip.

I find the "no more title shots" stipulation to be slightly lower on the rung of importance in wrestling than the "retire forever" stip. One. He became part of Elimination Chamber match that happened after Hunter lost the belt.

Orton was made to look awful. Anyone would have looked awful in the face of: 1.) Turning face only because you got your ass kicked by your former friends 2.) Not changing a single thing about your character (Orton went from being an arrogant, cowardly heel who had talent but resorted to the numbers game to being an arrogant, cowardly face that spat in the face of HHH and was destroyed because he was on th wrong end of the numbers game) 3.) Winning the world title, dropping it within a month, and heading right back down the card. Remember why Batista's face turn worked? They actually bothered about making Batista look as if he could stand up to HHH, and they teased it for months. And they've been teasing Ted's turn since his Ted Dibiase Sr. hosted RAW.

I'll go with the obvious answer:
CHRIS MASTERS TITLE SHOT
Have a tourny for the 1# contender and let somebody like Masters, Kofi or Swagger win it. Sometimes a little lucky streak can get the crowd behind you. AFter all this is the WWE, a predetermined sport... getting the crowd behind you is all you need to be a Star.
With that said, Kofi could easily be the one.
Ah hell, Swagger could probably step up in the span of 2 weeks with good booking. It might not even take GOOD booking to do it. Swagger is closer than most people think to Main Event already.

I know some people wouldn't like a reign this long...
BUT I say keep Cena champion until Royal Rumble at the very least if you're going to put him against Swagger.
That way, it'll give Swagger time to further build his Raw cred up...he can end the year reaching his goal of not losing the rest of the year (discounting last night's match)

That's what I meant. I just didn't go quite as in depth.

I do not watch RAW too often, but I noticed that Kofi Kingston is the most over wrestler on SNL-lite. He is a face and that rivalry will most likely fail. The Miz seems to be the most over heel, but he is the U.S. Champion. Ted Dibiase is the most likely candidate, but he has about as much heat as Canada does in the winter. This would make a boring feud, but then again WWE felt that it was necessary to have another HHH vs Orton feud earlier in the year.

Push Miz to the moon! He will be the next great WWE heel if they are willing to invest in him. Natural heat magnet.

Swagger or Miz will have a quick one month feud with Cena I reckon.
