I marked. He showed serious charisma and promo skills in that segment. I hope they push the guy to the moon.

I don't get it. Has it been established that Orton likes cars? Or was it just that Kofi destroyed something with Orton's face on it? Orton: "Oh no! YOU DESTROYED MY FACE! I look like a monster!" But I hope this Orton/Kofi thing goes far It was an expensive gift that Legacy got for Randy to cheer him up.

Having gotten Randy a racecar, I wonder if next week he'll get a pony for Kofi to key up and dump paint on.

First of all, I like the fact they let Kofi get at least his second win over Chris Jericho, and this time without interference from Shawn Michaels like at Night of Champions '08.
Second of all, it would be rather neat to have Kofi as a main event player. And one of the few if not the first non North-American WWE Champion (yeah, big wishing there).
WWE, don't screw it up.
...plus I would love to see a future with a WWE vs. World Champ match of Kofi (WWE) vs. Punk (World)

Tonight was, easily, the best promo he's ever cut, in my opinion. To be fair, it may be the only promo he's ever cut. But what a great start.

Funny thing is, up until they said he'd be debuting on ECW the next week I thought those were ads for Jamaican tourism.

First time I watched Raw in a while, and I have to say, Kofi really surprised me, with his charisma. His voice is really good, better than many of the current main eventers. It really surprised me how good he was in that, with the realistic intensity against Orton's car too.

Remember the Carlito/Orton feud that REALLY gave Carlito some legs... Let's just hope it doesn't end the same way that one did. (Orton beating him in their only match, never mentioning it again.)

Kofi's on his biggest push to date, and I'm very much interested in seeing how he does.
I've been a fan of the guy for a while now, I just like that athletic bouncing babyface stuff, so I want to see if he can take it to the next level, both performance and character wise.

I'll say the same thing I said in the RAW thread:
You know what really sold me on Kofi's promo (beyond the sheer awesomeness of it)?
He slipped THREE times (Once off the roof, once through the window, and the paint to the face),and he never once changed expressions. He continued his promo as if nothing happened and didn't miss a single beat.
Another thing.......Anyone notice that any time someone starts getting a significant push SOMEONE screws up their name in a promo?
Jeff Hardy was called Jeff Harvey by Adamle in the middle of his first main event push.
Bobby Lashley was called Bobby Lindsey by Trump leading into WM23.
And now Kofi Kingston was called Kofi Johnson by the Nascar drivers.

I knew he'd cut promos before. It was more of a sly comment based on the fact that Kofi had barely said anything in the last few months, let alone a 3-4 minute promo.

I was confused why I was supposed to mark for Kofi destroying a nice new car. I must've misssed something, because what did Randy do to Kofi? Kofi is talented, but (kayfabe) what a jerk! Besides, I'm not really buying Kofi as a "go berserk and destroy a car" type of guy.
I guess I'm gonna have to be "that guy" this week, because I didn't really like it.

Besides, I'm not really buying Kofi as a "go berserk and destroy a car" type of guy. It all started with Rhodes assaulting Kingston post match at Bragging Rights for being the fall guy in the 14 man tag. Then during the Iron Man match, Legacy interfered, helping Orton get a fall, but then Kofi ran them off with a chair. After Kofi beat Jericho (clean!) tonight, Orton assaulted him. I've typed this hoping that you actually didn't know why Kofi attacked Orton's car.

This. I always thought he was talented as hell, but that with that gimmick he'd never be a main eventer. Now, I totally am on the Kofi Bandwagon, and think this feud with Orton could make his a star. Please don't screw this up WWE Thing is, seeing as how Kofi isn't considered Jamaican anymore, what exactly is his gimmick now? People always go on about gimmicks with the WWE's young guys? Why the need? They say Legacy need a gimmick as well, but why? He is Kofi Kingston. He is getting over with his personality rather than a gimmick given to him. In the ring, he is happy, bouncy, fun loving, energetic. He's also shown he has a serious side and isn't willing to take a beating lying down. That's his personality, that's going to get him over. Legacy are also going to get over by displaying personalities, not by wrestling under a gimmick. Austin didn't have a gimmick, he had a personality. Neither did Rock. Neither did HHH. Neither does Orton. Neither does Edge. Neither does Cena. Neither does Batista. Sure, they all have nicknames, but they act based on their personality and character, rather than some gimmick that was given to them.

I agree with Orton, if he's got a problem why not say it to his face? Going after somebody's car is some pussy s***.
