Okay, saved the map and zoomed in on it. Yep, Northern Cali was Shire. ICW was Lexington and middle Kentucky. Everything out west that isn't colored is parts unknown. Still, it needs to be better colored. lol, I knew Idaho couldn't have had wrestling. Poffo just needs to be a different, actual color. Cool, that jives with what I know about ICW butting heads with Memphis. That map clears up the bits and pieces I've learned about territories (such as the Graham family and where in time and space SCW was), I learned something today. On the internet.

Yeah, I noticed WWF seemed very small in the first map post. I know that WWE had a huge portion of the north east, not just New York.

I don't know where these people get their information, but the AWA had a bigger presence in Northwest Indiana than the WWA. The AWA ran a show at the Hammond Civic Center once a month.

The Sheik's promotion(I forget the name, but it was something kind of dumb sounding) should get the Michigan territory, as that was where Sheik was the biggest. Big Time Wrestling died in 1980.

I'd say AWA had a bigger presence in Manitoba then Stampede. Stampede ran the bumf*** towns in Manitoba, whereas AWA was regularly running the Winnipeg Arena and Keystone Centre in the 80's.

Like I said, theres some mistakes, but I think for a general introduction to the territories it's marvelous.

The AWA was really big in San Fran, I'm sure others traveled in the area also.
My father was in Vietnam though and grew up in Minnesota and was based out of San Fran. He remembers the AWA being in both areas.
I've also heard it talked about in a book, but can't quite put my finger on which one it was.
Awsome map BTW.

The first map represents a certain date, 1984, while the WWE map I posted doesn't really give a specific date, but just gives a general idea.

YESS!!!!! Central States FTW. It is kind of sad how Kansas City isn't a big wrestling city anymore. Back in the 80s it was pretty much a territory all on it's own or at least the base of a really big one.
it is too bad Harley Race runs his WLW promotion in Nowherevilles aka Eldon, Missouri. It is like three or four hours froom Kansas City!!!.

I'd go to Race's school for the old school rearing. Around here, the northeast style isn't really popular.
