I think Bobby Lashley's push is turning out to be a bad move. Brock Lesnar's looked to be good but turned out to be a failure when he had too much success early on & got bored with Wrestling. Even though I can't stand Cena I do think his was probably one good one & Batista's might be arguable but I think he's put on far too many bad showings.
Then there are the guys who were pushed too slow like Chris Benoit for, now Benoit has always been great but I feel like he should have been a main event player after his feud with the Rock, I believe that in WCW & early WWF Benoit was at his best & that when he did win the title although the moment was great many people just didn't care about him as much anymore. RVD is another guy, when he first came in during the inVasion Angle he was by far the most over new guy, they could have put him in a main event program & he would have drew.

There is something to be said for pushing certain guys real slow like Benoit. Sure it would have been nice for him to be champ after feuding with the Rock, but think about how special a moment that was for Eddie and Benoit standing in the middle of the ring at WM both as champs. That moment wouldn't have been so special if Benoit had been a 2 or 3 time champ.

Lesnar, Lashley, and Kurt Angle all were pushed too early. Then you have cases like Benoit, Edge, and RVD where they were ready for major pushes 4 years before they got them.

His first one must have meant a lot seen as how they insisted he be Champ even though he was leaving.

I don't even think the most hardcore of Benoit fans would count that one.

The brand extenion is the major difference here, before there were two brands, if your name wasnt Austin, Rock, Taker or Triple H, you werent getting the title. Sure Angle and Foley had runs in there, but you get my point. After the brand split with two world titles, and Austin and Rock out of the picture it was a lot better for guys like Booker T, Eddie, and Benoit to win the title.

I think Angle is an exception. He came in at the right time, and had ALL the tools to be pushed the way he did. But yeah, I agree with Lee Miir on this one. Maybe it's because Im a mark for RVD and Benoit, but I think they deserve more than just upper mid-card status.

there are lots of guys with this problem. I think Matt Hardy should have gotten a huge push with his program with Edge. His pop was huge at the time, and kinda died down cuz people werent given a reason to care about him.
Lesner, in my opinion, proved the push was worth it. He was a good wrestler, and had Heyman as his voice. He also had some natural charisma as a heel. Cena and Batista have this quality too, and both waited long for their title shot. Lashley, not so much. Hasnt shown much in the ring, and on the mic hes even worse

If WWE had pushed Booker, RVD and Jericho in 2002 (when they were all REALLY hot) they wouldn't have the credible talent shortage they have now as there would me more top tier guys to make more stars as opposed to just HHH.

I think with Lesnar, they caught lightning in a bottle. Lesnar was one of the few people who was very talented and got over very quickly. Of course, he ended up leaving the WWE high and dry. I think the WWE wants to try to get another Lesnar, but people like him are so rare, that they're always going to fail.
