Okay, so one of the coolest features about any new Smackdown vs. Raw game is what legends will there be THIS time around. Whether you agree with the legends chosen or not, it's always fun to see who's chosen.
And with all the legend DVDs released as of late (Roddy Piper, Jake Roberts, Road Warriors, Dusty Rhodes, Greatest Wrestlers of 80s, etc.), there's obviously an audience that wants to remember their heroes, as well as a younger generation that wants to experience them for the first time.
So, why not have a WWE game that's exclusively legends? With WWE and THQ, there could finally be a Legends of Wrestling game that doesn't suck. Since WWE owns everything, they can finally do it right.
The arena's in the game could be all the famous ones we remember or hear about. The famous Wrestlemania's and their complete arenas. The Starrcade's, the SummerSlam's, Clash of the Champions', all of them.
Imagine being able to relive the Hogan/Warrior feud, watching the buildup (they can use the actual footage), then actually being able to play Hogan or Warrior as they march down through the complete Skydome arena, and down to the ring.
So you can have all the legends in one game, you can have all the arena's, the music, the announcing even, that made those events.
And imagine the bonus features. In depth profiles about the legends, about the events.
So anyway, what do you guys think?

I would buy this if you made the Starcade arena the old Omni in Atlanta. That would be kickass.

Yes, although they would have to find a name for it that wouldn't conflict with the Acclaim game. Maybe "WWE Hall of Fame."
I think THQ is slowly getting better about doing the Legends justice, but I still find it funny when the guys deliver moves that didn't even exist during their heyday. It would be like seeing Tito Santana finish someone with a Swanton Bomb: Just not right!

I agree, the problem is they only have so many legend slots they can use, and one is always guaranteed to be Hogan. And then they waste another on guys like Shane McMahon.

This is a great ideia, that with the right marketing, could sell very well.
So that´s the main reason it will never ever be done.

Since it would be a Legends of WWE game, you probably wouldn't see people like Dusty Rhodes, Vader, Sting, etc. that either never appeared or weren't very prominent in WWE.
On the other hand, SVR07 has Dusty, so you never know.

As soon as THQ learns that not every single pre-90s wrestler's finisher was a Piledriver, then we can discuss them making a Legends game.

I really that idea, although I think it would be better if they just let the legends in the current SmackDown games have a more prominent role. ie including the reliving past fueds mode, using old PPV arenas, matches like Wargames and putting in more legends than they have just now, they could take out some of the lower card or make the whole premise of the game about past vs present (instead of SmackDown vs Raw.)

It would be good if THQ didn't suck it up so much.

Just as long as there's a battle royal and/or Royal Rumble.
And if it's for the ol' XBox.

Owen would most likely NOT be in the game. The reason he does not have DVD yet and the reason he's not in the Hall of Fame or in any game is because his wife doesn't want the WWE doing anything like that with him. So I'd almost say a sure fire NO on Owen being in the game. Warrior is more possible since they have made a DVD and action figures of him. At least the game will have the Iron Shiek.
