So last night, the Sioux Falls Storm had their home opener against the Billings Wolves. Here's a picture from Storm owner Todd Tryon: The Storm had 9,787 fans show up for the home opener. Very impressive and was truly an amazing experience.

Philadelphia having to tough it out on the road against Orlando, especially after losing their kicker on the first PAT. Looked like either a hamstring or a groin injury.

And Philly wins on the road without a kicker, 70-63. Not sure what the hell Orlando was thinking there. 2 seconds left, down by seven, and you throw a pass well short of the endzone?
FAIL.

just haying the pifl chapionship game is monday july 6th trenton did not make the playoffs oh well there's always next year unless they fold I think Trenton is one of the teams that is in fairly good standing. Other leagues that have had their championships: AIF: York Capitals d. Chicago Blitz, 58-30 X-League: Florida Tarpons d. Florida Marine Raiders, 65-23 CIF: Sioux City Bandits d. Texas Revolution, 76-61 And in a little over a week, the Sioux Falls Storm will go for the 5th straight and 9th overall league championship when they face the Nebraska Danger.

And the 2015 IFL Champions are the SIOUX FALLS STORM!!!
Last night, they ended another perfect season in dominating fashion, defeating the Nebraska Danger, 62-27.

This isn't good: the league has taken over the New Orleans Voodoo and the Las Vegas Outlaws.

This isn't good: the league has taken over the New Orleans Voodoo and the Las Vegas Outlaws. Yeah, this is usually a death knoll for arena/indoor teams when the league takes over the team. Sometimes it works out, like the Orlando Predators last year. But most of the time, it usually leads to the team folding. New Orleans has had issues for years. But Las Vegas makes me shake my head. What the hell did Vince Neil do in a few months? Did he spend all of his budget on hookers and blow......again?

What the hell did Vince Neil do in a few months? Did he spend all of his budget on hookers and blow......again? I think the league viewed the Predators as a "too big to fail" scenario-they are one of the longest-running franchises and have traditionally contended. They may not be so forgiving with an expansion team. In the case of Vegas at least, they have really been struggling with attendance. As in, one game, they barely drew 1,000 fans. That might have to do with the ADD nature of the city-so much competition for entertainment money, which is a concern over whether the city can sustain an NHL franchise, as has been talked about recently.

Storm and the Stampede won their championships this year. You must be thrilled. This isn't good: the league has taken over the New Orleans Voodoo and the Las Vegas Outlaws. This isn't good at all. The Arena Football League only has 12 teams, and if they take control over 2 of them, this league is on the verge of going under entirely. I'm still irritated that they took down af2 with them, because that whole format of mixing the two leagues together was a major embarassment when they decided to get rid of all of the af2 teams other than Spokane after that first season.

Storm and the Stampede won their championships this year. You must be thrilled. Indeed. Although it's gonna be a little tougher to six-peat next year, with the new Veteran Rule by the IFL Owners. Basically, the teams can only have 7 players with veteran experience (3 or more years of playing indoor/arena football) next season. Sioux Falls had 14 guys on this year's roster who qualified as a veteran. I thought it was a bullshit rule when it was first announced, and still think it is. But I think the Storm will still be successful, because we have such a great coaching staff. Our head coach has been the coach since 2003, so I think we'll be just fine.

Also, the IFL is changing from a 14-game schedule to a 16-game schedule for 2016.
This would work as well. As long as they don't go to an 18-game schedule. That's way too long.
