Coach Guy "snubbed" in IFL AwardsThis is why I, and more and more people, hate Arizona. They act like they're owed everything, and when they don't get something, they act like a goddamn petulant child. Blizzard HC Roberson deserved the Coach of the Year Award. He took a team that didn't make the playoffs for 7 years, barely winning more than 2 games a year in that span, and turned them around, going 9-5, and getting a home playoff game for the first time since 2012. "Roberson did a great job. But what Guy did was remarkable, not only as a coach but as a recruiter, all the while having one foot in Tucson as owner of the expansion Sugar Skulls." Well no shit, considering you played your pet project 4 times this year, a tire fire in San Diego four times this year, and a LOLCow in Cedar Rapids TWICE, you should've went undefeated this year, by how goddamn easy that schedule was, and how goddamn talent was on the Rattlers' roster. And you almost f***ed it up by nearly losing to Tucson in OT.

Assuming the Gladiators do come back next season (which would be a miracle by indoor football standards), I can see the AFL debate on cutting Columbus or Baltimore. Columbus has not competed at all this season (putting it mildly), which usually is the kiss of death, and Baltimore has terrible attendance in an area that doesn't exactly have a superior alternative in the Orioles right now.
Now, it's not like the league should consider this since they need to have as many teams as possible for stability and health, yet they may look at this.

The Washington Valor defeated the Baltimore Brigade tonight 47-40 to clinch the final spot in the AFL playoffs. Albany is at Columbus tomorrow (or today I guess) and with a win, the Empire will clinch the regular season title and homefield for the playoffs.

And the shocking news to start the offseason, after 9 seasons, the Nebraska Danger are being put up for sale.

And Columbus finishes 1-11.
That one win really looks bad on that perfect season.

The Albany Empire wrapped up the regular season last night, thrashing the Philadelphia Soul 72-27 in front of nearly 11,000 in Albany. They will go into the playoffs as the #1 seed at 10-2 and will play the Baltimore Brigade in the playoffs, who finish their season today in Atlantic City. The other playoff match up is the Philadelphia Soul facing the Washington Valor.
The AFL Playoffs are a home and home series with the higher seed (in this case, Albany and Philadelphia) hosting the first game and the lower seed hosting the second. The team with the highest aggregate score from the two games advances to Arena Bowl 32 on August 11, held at the higher remaining seed's home venue.

So the NAL game between the Carolina Cobras and the New York Streets was called at halftime, with Carolina leading 46-0.
The reason was that the locker room of the Cobras was broken into, and the suspect(s) stole a ring and about $3,000 in cash from multiple lockers.
This actually isn't the first incident for the Streets, either. At the prior home game, someone broke into the dance team's locker room, and stole around $1,500. The dance team reported it to the Streets owner Corey Galloway, but no action was taken after that incident.
Since it seems like there's security around the locker rooms, to me this sounds like it was an inside job. Which doesn't look too well for the NY Streets.
My feeling is they should be booted from the league because of this.

When is indoor football just going to give up on NYC?

That's pretty crazy about the Streets because the Westchester County Center is a pretty decent place for events. I wonder if they have different people working the footballs games because the people who are there for basketball tend to be pretty decent.

My feeling is they should be booted from the league because of this. Has to be an inside job, considering White Plains (where the New York Liberty and the Westchester Knicks play) is so radically different than most of New York City, it would be highly unlikely somebody would break into the arena to steal from the locker room, let alone twice. This isn't me saying crime isn't possible in White Plains, but... come on. Then again, the Streets have been a terrible operation this year, with Orlando being worse, although Orlando has had to spend most of the first part of the season on the road. If it were up to me, the NAL is likely to fold, and the Arena Football League should take in Jacksonville and Orlando for the destinations and perhaps Carolina for the competition (Greensboro isn't exactly a travel destination, but then again, neither are Albany and Columbus, Ohio).

There were rumors going around that the NAL and IFL were going to merge this offseason, but that has since been nonexistent. There would've had to been changes from a league standpoint to make this work, as teams would not have survived the travel costs of going to the east coast and west coast. Granted, the IFL is in talks of expansion, and are looking to bring on more CIF teams as well as possibly bring back some old markets, like Billings and Spokane.

So 3 of the 6 AFL teams sell jerseys on their websites. And they look kinda nice.
But the one team I want a jersey from (Washington Valor), does not sell one on their website, which is the same website as the Wizards, Capitals, Go-Go, and Mystics.
Also, they have the Brigade, but don't sell their jersey either.

So the first bit of offseason moving and shaking is out: The Duke City Gladiators look to move from the CIF to the IFL.

The Albany Empire threw around the Baltimore Brigade, winning 61-26. All the Empire have to do is keep next week's game in Baltimore within 35 points and they will host Arena Bowl. Philadelphia and Washington square off in their first of 2 games tomorrow at 3:30 in Philly.

Well, Destroyers fans did not take kindly to me bragging about the team's awful year, but I told them if the Indiana Firebirds came back and had a craptastic season, I'd do the same. Shit, that's what the Indianapolis Enforcers exist for anyway.

And Columbus finishes 1-11. That one win really looks bad on that perfect season. At least they didn't make the playoffs, thus avoiding the "worst team in the league winning the championship" scenario for a second year in a row.
