Philadelphia dominated Washington 69-33 I don't think we are seeing a repeat. I'm sad for that. I've pretty much chosen Washington as my team since I have relatives that live out there. Plus, there's pretty much no other AFL teams around here.

So the NAL game between the Carolina Cobras and the New York Streets was called at halftime, with Carolina leading 46-0. The reason was that the locker room of the Cobras was broken into, and the suspect(s) stole a ring and about $3,000 in cash from multiple lockers. This actually isn't the first incident for the Streets, either. At the prior home game, someone broke into the dance team's locker room, and stole around $1,500. The dance team reported it to the Streets owner Corey Galloway, but no action was taken after that incident. Since it seems like there's security around the locker rooms, to me this sounds like it was an inside job. Which doesn't look too well for the NY Streets. My feeling is they should be booted from the league because of this. So an update on this story. Turns out, it was an inside job. A lady who worked for the Streets organization was arrested earlier last week for both burglaries. The NAL Commissioner released a statement on Friday, and while he took full responsibility for the situation and fined the Streets organization for the whole ordeal, the league also fined the Cobras and HC Billy Back, and suspended him one game for, and I quote, "conduct detrimental to the best interests of the league - for not finishing the game." I'm sorry, but that's bullshit. I understand protocol and policies and all that crap, but Coach Back was looking out for his players. They would not have been in the right state of mind for the rest of that game. Hell, I wouldn't be either, knowing that my personal belongings were stolen, and my trust was violated. Their emotions and thoughts were not on the game after that, and that could've led to injuries, fights, or even worse. I feel the Streets should be booted from the NAL, and I feel that the NAL Commissioner owes the Cobras and Coach Back an apology. But that won't happen. Because this is the world of indoor/arena football. And it's a shady sport ever since the beginning.

Glad to hear that it wasn't a Westchester County Center issue. I enjoy that place.

Because this is the world of indoor/arena football. And it's a shady sport ever since the beginning. The Cobras were dominating the Streets, 48-0 at halftime. Carolina is at the top of the league, while New York is mired at the bottom with Orlando. I doubt playing another half of football would've had the Streets miraculously making a comeback. Indoor football may have those moments, but that night didn't seem like it was possible, not to mention they had personal belongings and cash stolen. In indoor football, that could be their entire savings for a player since they pay isn't good and they're mostly doing it since they love playing football. Seriously; given that the whole thing was created just so the Columbus Lions could say they could run with the big boys, which is generally the genesis for a majority of half-baked leagues, I'm not surprised they took the stance they did. Carolina, Jacksonville, and Orlando should pitch joining the AFL, citing that they're back on ESPN, attendance is improving, and the league is starting to stabilize.

Because if you have a bad game the first game, then you're basically at a 35 point disadvantage. If they're gonna do shit like this, make it a best of 3 series. That or if after two games it's 1-1, after the second game, Field Goal Shootout.

Both won the second game more than they lost the first game.

The best part about the aggregate scoring is no one's even sure how it works. The League website said the 2 highest scoring teams went to the Arena Bowl, and their social media, previous to the Albany-Baltimore game, listed the 4 teams in order of points scored. Meanwhile the TV broadcast and staff of the Empire that my brother talked to were saying it was aggregate between the two teams facing each other, which makes more sense. Either way, it's f***ing stupid.

So the Arena Bowl is set, with the Albany Empire hosting the Philadelphia Soul. Albany will try to go for its first championship in franchise history, but second in Albany history, after the Albany Firebirds won Arena Bowl XIII in 1999.
Philadelphia goes for its fourth championship, first since 2017.
Carolina punched their ticket to the NAL Championship after an exciting finish, defeating the Massachusetts Pirates, 30-26. They wait for the winner of Jackonsville/Columbus, which plays Tuesday night.

I don't know if it will happen but I would not be surprised if the Arena Bowl sells out. Attendance has been good all season in Albany and it would look great to have 14,000 plus for the big game on ESPN2

ESPN sure does not know how to stream the Arena Bowl. I don't know why they didn't put it on ABC or something like that. That and put it on a Saturday instead of Sunday night.

Yeah, on a Saturday night, it has a chance to get some ratings. Tonight, it's getting killed, but the AFL is more interested in taking cues from the National Lacrosse League model of taking live attendance over viewership right now, which Albany has showed up. Anyway, it's finally up and running, and the game's pretty much over.

Haven't updated this for a while. Been meaning to. The Jacksonville Sharks won their 2nd NAL Championship in 3 years by coming back and defeating the Carolina Cobras, 52-48. IFL News: The Indoor Football League announced that a new expansion team would make its home in Oakland, CA. Led by Marshawn Lynch and Roy Choi (owner of the San Diego Strike Force and Cedar Rapids River Kings), the team will be called the Oakland Panthers. The Duke City Gladiators, 2-time Defending CIF Champions, have made the jump over to the IFL. Although it sounds like there's a lot of rumbling in the background from dysfunctional ownership. So I'm gonna say they'll go 2-12 and probably fold after one year. The Sioux Falls Storm have been rumored to be sold, with new ownership to be announced fairly soon. The Nebraska Danger have also been rumored to have a buyer, from the Dallas area. Rumors are abound that the Danger will probably relocate to Dallas, ending a 9-year run in Grand Island. The San Diego Strike Force have switched up their branding, with new logos and unis.

I’m glad the Oakland Arena will still be used after losing the Warriors. I’ll be supporting this team.
