Indeed it is. Every time I read it, I start to cry a little. seriously, i remember hearing it when i was like in grade 3, and it just stuck with me ever sense. i had to read it during a remembrance day ceremony in high school, as the old lady. some people cried. its just a beautiful poem.

Heh. I bought a vet dinner tonight. The smile he gave me will stay in my heart forever. As he started for the door, he turned to me and said, "Thank you for doing that." And I told him it was me who should be thanking him.
Pretty emotional moment, I must say.

I just wanted to say thanks for the thanks guys. It really means a lot to us combat vets to know that we aren't going to be treated like the Vietnam vets. MOST people realize that the Soldiers are NOT the ones who choose to fight. But we do it anyway.
Again, thanks for the thanks. It really means a lot.

Today marks the 91st anniversary of Germany signing the Armistice to end World War One. At the 11th Hour, of the 11th day of the 11th Month. Today at 11:00am take a 2 min moment of silence to remember the brave men that fought in not only WW1 but in all Wars. If you see one, make sure to thank them for their service and bravery in battle. That picture reminds me of the game Cannon Fodder that I have on my SNES emulator. I wish I could find the actual cartridge of that game...

I was lucky enough to be at my parents' local club on wednesday as some of our veterans came back from the service in their church, because I was taking my mother out for a birthday drink. It meant I got to buy a couple of rounds for the guys and hear a ton of stories. It was awesome.
