Walking to a party I took a short-cut through the student ghetto. Let's just say that I was looking in every which way to make sure no body was around. Longest 4 blocks of my life.

My friend and I swerved into a ditch to avoid a head-on collision with someone driving down the wrong side of the road in a pickup truck at around 50-60 MPH. I firmly believe it would of probably killed us or at least maimed us had we not pulled out of the way in time. Me and three of my buddies nearly ran out of gas on the way to vegas. We had to stop at the one town for 100 miles in any direction wih gas at 1am. What followed haunted us forever. Yeah, a foursome between buddies has to make for some awkward moments. |

I was going to say joining the NAVY. Man, the moment you realize they OWN your ass...that is sheer terror. LOTS of supposed "hard asses" get cold feet and run out of that room before they can be sworn in. |

I think I told that in my NY thread but:
I was walking around Chinatown at night with my girlfriend looking for the nearest subway stop. One guy we passed lifted the front of his shirt and showed us that he had a gun stuck in his pants.
Needless to say I was stunned. However the guy just walked on and so did we and nothing at all happened.
So while it was scary as hell it also one of the biggest "What the smurf?"-moments of my life.
