Oh, do I remember these. These, the Beverly Cleary Ramona books, Choose Your Own Adventure and the Little House books were my crack when I was a kid. I actually was so excited to find new printings at Barnes and Noble recently. Might actually get them too.

I'm pretty sure I have one episode of the HBO series on tape. Encyclopedia Brown and the Case of the Missing Time Capsule.

Damn Meat, I had forgotten the awesomeness that was Encyclopedia Brown. For some reason I was pretty good at figuring out the mysteries, but always had to cheat at choose your own adventure books.

Damn Meat, I had forgotten the awesomeness that was Encyclopedia Brown. For some reason I was pretty good at figuring out the mysteries, but always had to cheat at choose your own adventure books. Choose Your Own Adventure always left me dead, and never with a happy ending. Thus, I would work backwards in my story

Man I used to love those books as kids, and I also enjoyed the show on HBO. If I can somehow buy all those books I would.
Wanna know what I would do with them?

Great series for young readers. Donald Sobol is the man. As a kid with choices to read Super Fudge, or Where the Sidewalk Ends, I instead opted for Mr Encyclopedia Brown. When faced with quality youth authors like Sobol, Blume, and Silverstein, why choose? I read them all and was better for it. Good times. Ahh...we sure had good books back then. Not like today's kids with their boy wizards and their vampires. Ohh....
