Meh, not enough late-period Mike Nelson episodes for my tastes. Dude, I'd take ANY Mike episodes. Joel bores me right into a coma. Jed Shaffer ~Except the "Hamlet" episode. I ... I can't even say anything sarcastic about it. It's just so horrible.

Youtube has a whole crap load so I'll just stick to that. I just watched "Red Zone Cuba" last night. Hoo boy, what a stinker. Red Zone Cuba is one of my favorite episodes. The Coleman Francis Trilogy are all classic MST3K episodes. How was that guy allowed to make one movie, much less three?

Yeah, it's not region blocking. It's a rights issue. Hulu does not have the rights to air these shows on an international basis, they only have the right to air them in the United States. Broadcasters in other countries pay good money to air these shows, and I'm sure they wouldn't like it if their partners undercut them.
Re: Pay Hulu: In all fairness, they do have a right to make a profit from this service. They ahould air a couple more minutes of commericals per broadcast, unless nobody will buy ads for this.

They should have no problem being profitable just by selling ads. Over the air tv got by on that model for many years and radio still operates off of ad revuene. Hulu doesn't even have to pay for production costs, i.e producting original series. They just pay for server space and copywrites. The only reason they would want to go as a pay service is if their CEO wants an obscene salary that he and only he feels he deserves. Also, as if I want to pay to watch public domain movies and horrible low budget horror movies Lionsgate picked up the rights to.

I'm a huge Mike fan (I respect Joel and will watch any MST3K episode, but his style usually falls flat with me), but I feel his era didn't really achieve brilliance until the Sci-Fi years. It was still very much a Joel-styled show when he was plugged in as host, and he didn't really get to make it his own until Trace left and the level of bitterness and outrage was ramped up.

I don't expect Hulu will ever go pay. I DO expect that the companies will use ad time to shill their own stuff.

I watched Super Agent Super Dragon today. Great stuff. Actually the first full length movie I've watched on MST3K. I had been sticking to the short films.

Both were good in their own flavors (Joel the cerebral understated, Mike in your face momentum), but maybe I just loved the program that much? Off-topic, but what Rifftrax has anyone downloaded?

I remember when I was younger and caught it, I ended up turning the channel as it was "too much". Secret Agent Super Dragon was great, though. It's definitely one of my favorites, now.

"Monster A Go Go" is hysterical, better than 90% of the Sci Fi epsiodes. "The Rebel Set" is a good one too. The other three on Hulu... not so much.

I'm about 20 minutes into the Gila monster one. Don't know if this is good or bad... But it's definitely different. The biggest problem I'm having is figuring out whether to follow the movie or not. The muppets tend to talk over the movie This post has to be a joke. It HAS to be.

I really, really like it, but it doesn't feel as off-the-cuff as MST3K did. Also, too many geek in-jokes, but that's just the boys knowing their audience, I suppose.

Giant Gila Monster has been a disappointment so far. Really a one joke show, but I do still have 30 minutes left.

Speaking of MST3K, earlier today one of my friends who had a lot of the episodes on tape. We watch the Pumaman episode today. I don't know how I can express my feelings of that movie expect for two things. Pumaman flying backwards and the helecoptor crash at the end of the movie.

It's shocking to me how often Donald Pleasance shows up in movies that get the MST3K treatment. Was he hurting for money or something?
