youtube.com/watch?v=tARzq6uwmHMAustin/Jake from KoTR had some awesome selling. Jake really looks like his ribs are killing him, and makes every hit from Austin look absolutely excruciating.

The title of the thread and the initial post are two different things. If you're talking about the the "best" sell job ever, then there are a few replies that are not even in the neighborhood. For instance (just for one, and I'm not trying to pick on this crowd) The Rock should be nowhere near being considered a good "salesman" in the ring. In fact, not being able to legitimately sell OR deliver a move is precisely what makes me hate wrestlers like The Rock.
On the other hand, if you go by the title of the thread and not the prompt in the initial post, then it's much more likely to hear some Rock fans post his name. You may think The Rock is "cool" in what he does, but the definition of "selling" is to make the action in the ring as legitimate as possible. Therefore, I can go along with anyone who thinks Shawn Michaels selling a big boot from Hogan or The Rock selling a stunner is ultra "cool." Don't get me wrong, I truly enjoy it every time I see the Shawn Michaels "sell job," but that's in the context of making Hogan look like a fool. I also love the histrionic D-Von Dudley and Big Boss Man antics after a dangerously low blow.
The art of sell is in the fact that one can overblow an opponent's move or action without making it beyond the realm of just being ridiculous. When I see Bret Hart in any match running into the turnbuckle, THAT's painful in the realm of believability. I die a little each time for Terry Funk when he is involved in a match. To me, THAT's selling.
As far as the wrestling end of it goes though, Michaels after the big boot and The Rock after ... well, anything are absolutely atrocious sell jobs.
(Again, not saying you can't like ridiculous stuff or that anyone should condemn you for it. After all, this is a thread on the WWE Board, not a professional wrestling board.)
Time to go watch puroresu . . .

Yeah, that's that Hogan 2-second rule I was talking about. "If you use your finisher on Hulk Hogan, know that it only knocks him out for two seconds. Once those two seconds elapse, it's over for you".

Come on now, everyone knows that the way to take the Stunner is the way that Linda McMahon did.
