I wonder if this is newer footage of Joel or just his intro during that time. I hope it's newer footage.

I kind of think the threw a bunch of medicore episodes in with Final Sacrafice because they knew it'd sell big no matter what.

I like Beatniks but the past 2 sets have been so awesome I knew there would be a subpar set soon

I've never seen any of these? Are they any good? Final Sacrafice is a really good episode. Beatniks is funny, mostly because he has nothing to do with Beatniks. I think that is the one with the guy who has his pants hiked to his rib cage. Blood Waters of Dr. Z is the only season 10 episode I haven't seen. I think it only aired once because it never replayed on Scifi when I was taping episodes in 99/2000. I'm looking forward to seeing that. Then there is the Creeping Eye. If you have seen the first episode of any series, you will know its not as good as later episodes. Most of the season one episodes were pretty blah for mst3k.

Final Sacrifice is probably one of the most quoted among the Sci-Fi years, and has been heavily requested for DVD release for years. Word is that Shout had to pay extra money just to get the rights to it, something Rhino would have never done.
At the very least it's interesting that we're getting episode 101 on this set, though I'm really tired of the season one episodes. Hell, if they're going to go with the really early stuff each set, they should just throw on some KTMA episodes. At least those are more interesting from a historical perspective.
Still, if they're insisting on the even split between Joel and Mike episodes, I wish they'd go for more late-period Joel stuff, when the show was finally in its groove. Too much of the early Joel episodes are just unwatchable.

I'm hoping for Alien From LA someday. I had in on tape for years but taped over it by accident. It was one of the first episodes I ever saw.

Sandy Frank is stalling for more cash. What about the Bert I Gordon ones? They had Tormented and Amazing Colossal Man (briefly on VHS) but none others I thought "The Beginning of the End" and "The Giant Gila Monster" were Bert I Gordon films, and both of them were released (the former on VHS, the latter as a replacement DVD for "Godzilla vs. Megalon" due to copyright issues). The one I really most want to see is "The Beast of Yucca Flats' thus completing the Coleman Francis trilogy.
