I'd really like to think most people have more important things to do in their real lives than to actively care and complain about whether someone liked/hated a movie/tv show/video game or not. But I guess I'm wrong. DAMN RIGHT YOU ARE, n00b!!!!!!

I will be honest if someone types like a moron I think your opinion is invalid. That just me because why should I take someone opinion at face value when you come off stupid and ignorant.

It's best to just click the little arrow thing and hide the comments. [ I will be honest if you type like a moron I think you opinion is invalid. That just me though because if you choose to write like that then your opinion in null and void. I believe that at least half of those people are actually really concise and smart but just like to piss others off and use the whole anonymity aspect of the internet to get there angry out.

I am sure they are concise and smart at times but it hard to take someone opinion on here as serious. It also same with how someone speaks or comes across to you in person. I do not expect someone to have a Doctrine degree to have an opinion, but have some common sense and stop being ignorant to things.

I swear the bad spelling/ignorance is a gimmick most of the time. Which makes it worse than if it was real.

an opinion can never be true or false as it simply that: an opinion and not a fact

But I guess I'm wrong. Well, technically you're not wrong since you say you would like to think most people etc. etc.... so I guess you don't really believe that, you just wish you could. So your post was invalid, proving my point that women are only on the internet to be ogled, not taken seriously as human beings with valid opinions.* *- Please tell me you people know that I'm joking.

In my view, my opinions are always wrong.
Including this one.

This is something that bothers me, and I've been seeing it more and more (even on here). What bothers me is people not respecting others opinions. I'll give you an example. we've had threads here about movies like Avatar and GI Joe and Transformers 2 and just about any big movie coming out. These threads always end up with someone telling someone that their opinion is wrong/stupid and that they're opinion is correct. How is an opinion correct? If one doesn't like a movie/book/tv show/hand puppet, why is that so bad? If you think a film is crap, there is someone out there who thinks it's the best thing ever. If it's not hurting you (and there are exceptions of course) why be a dickweed and rain on his parade? Why not have a little thing called respect? Is it really that hard to attack the product and not the person who likes it? Telling someone you don't like something (and why)is fine, but there's no need to attack someone who does like it, it just makes you look like a jackass. Just my two cents.

You should have been there when I gave a favorable review to Wolverine : Orgins. Yeesh. What I hated about that period was everyone who had downloaded the work print saying how much it sucked. You're the ones who illegally downloaded the movie a month before it's release and you have a hide to complain about it's quality like somebody personally slighted you? I liked Wolverine by the way.

One more small thing that bothersme (while I'm on this nifty soapbox) are people who need to restate over and over they hate something. A couple times is alright, but after the seventh or eighth time we kind of get the idea of your thoughts on said subject is. I think this is annoying too. I tend to steer clear of certain threads because it seems like people just want to crap all over things the WWE or TNA do (especially TNA).

Youtube needs to disable comments across the board. Otherwise, there's a nifty Firefox add-on that censors out the offensive comments.

You should have been there when I gave a favorable review to Wolverine : Orgins. Yeesh. Wolverine and ROTF both seemed to spark a lot of anger 'round these parts, both towards the movies themselves as well as those who enjoy them.

I think it's more about someone being passionate about something. For example (just going with movies I've recently seen), I liked Ninja Assassin, but if someone said they didn't like it, it wouldn't bother me, that's their opinion. But if someone says they don't like a movie that I love, like The Crow, then I'm going to defend it as much as I can. Every point that they try to make against it, I'm going to try to make them look wrong.
So if I were to say I didn't like Inglourious Basterds, I wouldn't be trying to make a big deal about it because I don't care either way. But it might be someone else's favorite movie. You never know how obsessed someone is with something.

Is it really that hard to attack the product and not the person who likes it? Telling someone you don't like something (and why)is fine, but there's no need to attack someone who does like it, it just makes you look like a jackass. Just my two cents. Valid two cents. I had an English prof in college explain the difference between a criticism and opinion. With a criticism being an informed examination of the subject at hand, with an opinion just being an examination based on personal likes and whatnot. Now, defining what "informed" is in this scenario makes this interesting all to itself. Example: I think that the Lord of the Rings novels and other materials are good works of literature, influential and all that, however, I never "felt" they were good novels, they didn't grab me. I felt more involved with Dickens' works. Of course, there is the whole "I personalize my opinions" as well. I.e., someone who refutes or does not share your opinion (neutral pronoun in this case) is attacking "you." And that's the issue. On a place like this board that can be a bit dangerous, as it's just the exchange of ideas.
