The PS3 is going to win out in the "Japanese Exclusives" department (Valkyria Chronicles, Demon's Souls, MGS 4), as well as "Second Party Exclusives" (ie : Uncharted, inFAMOUS, etc.)department, but the 360 is a worthy system with plenty of good games, and Microsoft really managed to step it up in the publisher support area (which was what killed the original X-Box, IMO, but we've managed to see games like Tekken, Virtua Fighter, Devil May Cry, and Bayonetta upcoming, hit Microsoft's system, where last generation they wouldn't have). But I really think that FF13, despite getting a 360 version, is going to be the death of the 360, and the last of the Next-Gen (or PS3) holdouts jump on board (especially if those same people want the FF13 spinoff games), and the PS3 will ride that momentum. But as for right now, they're both good systems, as far as the library goes. Not really. MS has a system set up to sweep up Japanese developers to create exclusive, or at least timed exclusive, games for the 360. MS actually pays these Japanese developers up front to make the game 360 exclusive for a time being. Then the developer can make the game for PS3. It ends up being what do you want more? The game as soon as possible? Or extra content? Most JRPGs now are 360 first, usually a whole year before the PS3 version, however the PS3 version gets extra content. See games like Tales of Vesperia and Star Ocean 4 for examples. Also, FF13 will NOT be the death of the 360. One single game won't be the death of any system. All that will happen is the PS3 will see a boost in sales from FF13. Even then, many of the people who would've bought FF13 already have a 360 and will probably buy it on that system. Why buy a new system for a single game if said game is coming to the system you already own as well? In truth, if anything, MS getting FF13 to be multiplatform is going to hurt the PS3. Plus, FF13 aside, let's keep in mind, most multiplatform games are better on the 360, if even just slightly. Take Bayonetta, for example, it looks better and interestingly even plays slightly better on the 360 than the PS3, but this can be chalked up to the real developer of the game, Platinum Games is only making the 360 version, SEGA, the publishers, was handed the task of porting it to PS3. Until the PS3 manages to beat the 360 in terms of sales, the 360 will still be the leading platform in the industry for developers.

The developer not only adds extra content, but takes time fixing things up and making it run better too, with that extra year (give or take) of time (see Enchanted Arms and especially The Last Remnant for examples). Third parties have pretty much been marginalized this generation as far as settling what system someone is going to buy, so far. Going back to Japanese developers, it's nice that Capcom and Namco aren't really playing favorites (unless you count that the 360 won't be getting a version of Sengoku Basara 3, thanks Capcom), but Sega's already dropped a few nice PS3 exclusive bombs (Valkyria Chronicles, Initial D Extreme Stage), NIS plans on staying away from the 360 (leaving the 360 version of Cross Edge in Japan unless someone else decides to bring it over, which is unlikely), and when looking at Japanese 360 exclusives that are likely to stay that way, you're looking at the likes of Senko no Ronde and Raiden Fighters Aces. Though, to be fair, the 360 probably has more Korean exclusives (Kingdom Under Fire, 99 Nights, Magna Carta 2), for whatever that's worth.

HOWEVER, Fist of the North Star Dynasty Warriors being on both consoles makes me happy.

I have a big screen TV that I got for my birthday/Christmas from Dad. It's a pretty badass TV, and I kinda wanna upgrade from my PS2. I'm going to keep it, but I figured I should move into the next gen of consoles as well. I've been trying to figure out which one to get. My cousin and some of our friends tell me I should get the XBox 360, as they all have it. But I still have some feeling of loyalty to Playstation. Both systems have games on them that I would play. That's not a real big issue. So, help me out here, Wrestlecrap. Give me your opinions and some facts that would help sway me to either side of the Force. PS3, so we can play Smackdown vs Raw and Mortal Kombat II.
