okay, this is really bugging me. in the Siege: the Cabal one shot, Norman is talking about Asgard being a threat to national security. he even talks to Dr. Doom and Loki about it, and that spirals out of control. then Norman tries to get the president to let him bomb Asgard. thing is, I've been reading JMS' run on Thor and uh.. isn't Asgard in LATVERIA now? the whole issue seems like they're acting like it's still in Oklahoma. wouldn't Doom speak up about Norman wanting to bomb it because it's in HIS country now? and isn't Loki the one responsible for it being there in the first place? or is this just another example of Bendis not reading anything he didn't write himself and making a massive continuity error just so he could tell his own (probably shitty but I'll wait and see) story?

As I recall, the Asgardians are in Latveria. Asgard itself is still hovering over Oklahoma.

so it is... memory must have been hazy. but all the gods of Asgard ARE in Latveria, Asgard's pretty much empty... so... Osborn is declaring war on an empty building?

Yea, I think we all know there's gonna be holes in this story.
Personally, I'm just gonna try to look at the good things about Siege:
1. Thor finally gets to be important again. 2. Once this atrocity's over with, maybe (okay, hopefully) the yearly status quo changing crossovers can stop for the next decade.
Is at least two years without a clusterf***-over too much to ask?

/\ second one won't happen as long as Bendis/Quesada are in charge. they love them some pointless crossovers that don't mean anything in 3 months.

I have been out of comics so long...what the heck is Norman Osborn doing in Asgard? Due to a series of idiotically complicated events (to sum it up shortly, Thor), Asgard is currently floating over Oklahoma. So it's not that Ozzy's in Asgard, it's that Asgard's technically American soil these days. And Osborn wants to destroy it for......some bullshit reason that doesn't actually make any sense since pretty much all of the gods are currently in Latveria, as Baldobomb pointed out previously.

Thanks Tank - but this Norman - is it the son or the father? I know Spidey's history was ret-conned recently and I was wonder which one it is.
Man I am so out of the loop now.

Uh..............it's Norman Osborn. He came back from the dead in the late '90s as the mastermind (read: cop-out end) to the Clone Saga. Since then, he was placed in charge of the Thunderbolts, and in the aftermath of Secret Invasion has basically become Nick Fury. Honestly, you'd be better off going to his Wikipedia article. I'd be typing 'til Christmas day if I tried to explain all this to you.

I'll go to the Wiki then. Wasn't it Harry who was behind the Clone Saga, etc??? Meh, I'll look it up. Explaining comics is like trying to explain 20 years of a soap opera I think. Thanks.

The Asgardian's were supposed to be back in Oaklahomo by now. But seeing how JMS is so slow and bitched out of Thor despite all the concessions they gave him and warned him about Seige a year ago he still never finished his run.

But in the interest of sounding like a comic smark, it's still all Bendis' fault!!!

You haven't been reading have you? This whole time Loki has been manipulating Osborn, and Osborn wanting to invade Asgard actually doesn't have much to do with Asgard itself. Loki convinced Osborn that he need another tragedy to tighten his grip on things in the world so they organize an incident involving a Asgardian.

They don't know it was Loki, but they know it wasn't her.
