I'm a 6'4", 225 lb red head. No one has EVER messed with me for my hair (at least, to my face). I still think "daywalker" is funny enough. One of my old coworkers called me that all the time.
I love that South Park episode.

I remember reading that some people in England were pushing to have gingers as a separate racial group for the sake of claiming issues like this are discrimination.
However, this is California. I am visiting that area right now. This area is FILLED with stupid people. This doesn't shock me. At all!

Hey...I live in SoCal And my statement is not blanketing. I've just come across a higher percentage of people I feel are ignorant (ignorance, not stupidity). It's a relativity. Still, I was out with my folks the other day, and a woman ran out of gas. We stopped the car and helped her push it out of the busy lane and into a school parking lot until Triple A could come out and help her. She told us that she tried to flag down 4 men before my dad and I stopped to help her. Stupid move to ignore her gas level, but still, I lose a little faith in mankind whenever someone... ANYONE... needs help, and people ignore them. This happens more prevalently in an area of higher density of population (especially one of the most litigious areas in the country that is Orange County). It's either because Texas has changed me, or because of my military history, but I hate seeing people who need help getting ignored, especially so close to Christmas. Back on topic, I'm a red head, but, hell, I barely trust red heads... |

Dear God, for some reason that makes me laugh ... But I had this happen to me, you don't have to read if you don't want to. {Spoiler}But then when I was 22 a friend of mine told me that members of a local high school football team wanted to kick my ass because of the color of my skin. Another friend walked up and he was the football coach of that school, and when he heard about it he went and worked the team's ass on the field extra hard in practice that week.
Thing that I didn't understand was that I didn't know any of them personally. They were just unenlightened enough to want to kick my ass without knowing who I was. I think one of the snorkers ended up calling the coach a racist term for "someone who loves negros" and got kicked off the team and expelled from school.
Don't take this the wrong way, though. Most of the people in this area are pretty cool. I wouldn't be here if they weren't. This place is enlightened enough now that there is a Tattoo parlor in town, and they have plenty of work. God knows I've dropped some coin there. But I realize that this Ginger thing was probably a harmless prank. |

Two of my cousins are "Gingers" and, outside of the fact that they have no soul, they are just like the rest of us, really. No need to kick them, just be on guard at night so they don't steal your soul to quench their thirst for skin pigmentation.
In all seriousness, they'd probably think it was hilarious and play it up, as they find it entertaining.

Alright maybe it's just because of where I grew up, but are Redhead kids really picked on that much?
It wasn't even until shortly before that South Park Episode aired that I learned some people seem to have such a strong dislike of red haired people.

Really? That's hilarious! See I actually think the cards premise is quite funny, but if I wanted to put out a card that said the same but replaced ginger with black/asian/most groups the PC crowd care about, I'd very rightly get my ass kicked, so either its all okay or none of it is You get a few cases here and there, I used to have occasional comments shouted at me but not had anything for a few years......Kinda weird cause the last time it happened which as I said was years ago, I said to myself "That's it, next f****r gets summit back" and not one comment since then.......I presume its cause I'm now an adult and as such not an easy target which is really the sort of people those types were looking for And I presume its these sort of people that are the type that got themselves arrested, looking for an easy target, you get kids doing this cyber-bullying all the time now and on this occasion it was some ginger kids Also, inspired by the South Park episode? (Which I loved cause (A) It was awesome (B) They do follow the "It's all ok for slagging" system) Is that confirmed cause it seems like an awful big time gap |
