Which Batman are we talking about? If it's All-Star Batman, it's understandable. If it's the one I'm thinking of, it's regular continuity Batman as written by Jeph Loeb who wishes to be Green Lantern's love interest and so merely has him smack round Batman as compensation. |

I don't even like Hal Jordan that much, but Geoff Johns has managed to write one of my all time favorite comic runs with him. It's the only book I still get excited about.
And as for Geoff Johns wanting to be GL's love interest or whatever to beat up Batman; a handful of issues later there was an issue about Bats and GL becoming friends again, and Batman wasn't presented as a jerk at all. Geoff Johns is also writing Batman: Earth One, so I doubt he hates the character.
