I wouldn't be surprised if TBA actually was the actual PPV name. World Wrestling Entertainment presents TBA live on Pay Per View! This entirely new concept pits your favourite WWE superstars against eachother with matches only being announced on the fly at the last minute! WWE: TBA, live from an arena which we'll pick on the day! Hey, it'll only be slightly shorter-term planning than their average PPV anyway, right? In all honesty, that wouldn't surprise me in the slightest and it wouldn't be all that much more terrible an idea that the Hell in a Cell PPV already is.

Night of Champions is only about 75 miles from me, I might try to get to that, it'd be my first PPV and my girl's first WWE event ever.
If only we'd get another PPV in Milwaukee. What was the last? Taboo Tuesday?

They must be awfully certain this TLC ppv is a good idea if they've already signed it up for next year.

Alright, let's see about one that truly bugs me: Elimination Chamber. I never like the concept of a cage match where four guys hang out in pods that resemble scrapped sets from Star Trek and the cage itself is named after slang for a toilet. Also, I'm peeved that there aren't any PPVs in Indianapolis in 2010 (well, maybe TBA, but still...). Here's hoping we get WrestleMania XXVII!

So they are skipping July to give us an 8 week build to SummerSlam it seems. Looks like a good idea right now but we all know how that might turn out. TLC might just be the place name for now since that is what it is currently called.

Posted by oafman on Today at 10:58pm Extreme Rules in Oakland? Hmmm... Im Australiann...why are people shocked that Oakland has a PPV?? It's a good question, seeing how I don't think they've hosted a wrestling event since 1999. It seems like any time a PPV goes to Northern California, it goes into the HP Pavilion Arena in San Jose or one of the arenas in Fresno, rather than Oakland.

Ditch TBA, move the schedule back after No Way Out.
That way you have 8 clear weeks to build to mania.

We're supposed to get a UFC PPV in 2010, Mania in 2011, and the Super Bowl in 2012. Or is it Super Bowl in 2011 and Mania in 2012? All I know is we're supposed to have a 3 year span where we get a badass PPV each year.

I'm calling this now. TBA is going to be War Games.
Remember the poll WWE had up a few months ago about what name to pick for a new PPV? War Games was one of the choices...

All I know is we're supposed to have a 3 year span where we get a badass PPV each year. Yeah, it's the UFC PPV in 2010, WrestleMania XXVII in 2011 (I don't think they'll do it in the Georgia Dome, and I feel as if the outdoor stadium WrestleMania concept should be once a decade), and the Super Bowl in 2012. It's a good time to be in Indianapolis and to be a fan of various kinds of sports. I'll make sure to be one of the first to get my ticket to seeing WrestleMania next year. Now, granted, the TBA concept could actually mean there won't be a PPV, but couldn't you just eliminate the Elimination Chamber PPV and have a lot of build-up for WrestleMania (instead of a bunch of guys battling in a funky-looking cage, set up a tournament like they did in WrestleMania 22 for the John Cena/Triple H match on the other brands).

January 31, 2010 Royal Rumble Atlanta, Georgia As late as it could be, which means extra time to build up potential contenders and mini-feuds for the Rumble. Good. Closer to the Rumble than Mania, which makes each of the first 2 PPVs of 2010 appear to be the necessary precursors. I like this, as well. Outside of the EC name. Seriously No Way Out > Poop Room Again, late in the month. A good thing. A full 5-week build - 8 full weeks from the Rumble - will allow them to build a top-flight pay-per-view for the real 25th anniversary of the first WrestleMania. If they pull it off, though, is another question. WM26 v1.1.0: Heels Get Their Heat Back. Four weeks of build. I'm not sure if they should keep 4 weeks here. Three weeks might be better, since it would let them go ahead with any brand-switching and start building for SummerSlam that little bit quicker. But heck, I won't complain. I like moving ER up. It allows them to focus on the gimmicks as opposed to just the feuds. This gives a chance to blow off the personal feuds that would have spent January through March as professional/championship issues. Another positive is the four full weeks. No location yet? Four weeks to build to what otherwise looks to be the only "generic" WWE pay-per-view. As much as I like the GAB/Bash history, this one more than any other ought to be gimmicked. Not heavily, mind you, but something to make it bigger. Like keeping the name and adding the War Games-type match as the main event (inside of a modified HiaC cage, thus allowing them to ditch HIAC as a PPV). TBA? Tuxedo Match! Bra and Panties Match! Arm Wrestling Match! Oh my! I'm surprised to see Breaking Point dropped simply because, with minor conceptual modification, it is a great idea. My variation to keep it fresh would be to amass all of the submission-based and endurance-based gimmick matches they have, and use them across the card: (1) Iron Man; (2) "I Quit"; (3) Last Man Standing; (4) 2-of-3 Falls; (5) Championship Scramble; (6) Gauntlet; (7) Three Stages of Hell; (8) Basic Submission; (9) Stretcher. Obviously, some of those are typically stinkers and/or wouldn't work on the same card. But one Iron Man WWE Title Match and one WHC Scramble Match would be 60% of the show and provide two types of potential awesome. I hope they find a way to steal my idea. I'd like to see SummerSlam have 5 weeks of build. This would allow them to make this the Big Summer Show. If they like LA and want to go there for SS every year (or maybe switch off with Miami and Houston), and eventually turn it into a stadium event, they have to start with booking it that way. Use the previous month's show to build up the major angles that a Big Show needs to deserve the higher price, longer run time, and big buyrates. Make it into the huge event (grill in the late afternoon, bring in plates full of burgers and brats, set up the family and friends in front of the plasma, and everyone kicks in $10) it deserves to be on a hot, steamy summer night (or a cool late winter's eve for our Australian Crappers). Yes! Yes! Hell yes! Two weeks after my birthday, and three weeks before my little sister's. I think I'll have to make this her 12th birthday present next year. It'll be her fist WWE show (mine too; I'm an indie guy...weird, I know). I also LOVE that NoC has been pushed back by two months. It was too much of a burnout pre-SummerSlam. But now what it does is establishes each tier of talent heading into the end of the year. Great move. I'm not big on HIAC as a concept, but I guess it does fine as the feud-ender. Much like Mania-Backlash-Extreme Rules will function as a trio of shows (most likely), SummerSlam-NoC-HIAC can do the same. The first show is the Big Event Show that everyone sees. The second is the opportunity for the losers to gain back the advantage. The third allows the underdog to face the favorite and the odds in the gimmick match. Good structure. A good concept. Hopefully they can expand it next year without the Iron Man match on the card. Also, I'd like to see some involvement of ECW as "guns for hire" for Bragging Rights. One of the complaints about Team Smackdown (pre-revision) was that it lacked star power and faces. If Raw and Smackdown were both trying to convince, say, Christian, to fight for them, then there would be another level of interest. Also, one-brand fans would think, "Hey - why is he so special? I think I'll watch ECW to find out!" A best-of-seven series instead of best-of-three is a better way to go. Maybe make the curtain-jerk match a battle royal with all of the Superstars who aren't part of other matches, or at least enough of them to have even sides. Still breathing. I would love to see Survivor Series return to the old school roots of Odd Face Team vs. Odd Heel Team. The back-to-back nature of these shows ought to be used to take focus away from the World Titles for a couple months, thus making the Royal Rumble and the Road to WrestleMania seem so much bigger. Ideally, from the Rumble through NoC, the Champs would have 4 feuds: the Rumble-EC Title match; the Mania-ExR feud; the SS-NoC feud. The Bash/TBA period would be a chance to reestablish the card after big changes or start building to SummerSlam. Too early to judge. This would allow for some quality blow-offs if necessary, but even more would give a one-off spectacle...a spot-show, really, to end the year with a bang before Christmas and Tribute to the Troops. This kind of resets the table for the Road to WrestleMania.
