Well the more TNA produce exciting matches with ACTUAL wrestling then sooner rather then later TNA will be a HUGE competitor with WWE...Hogan or No Hogan...

When i compare the "best" i mean excitement from top to finish...TNA last sunday had the BEST 3 way match since Vengeance 2002. It was the bout/fight ive seen on PPV in 2009 And you think this has anything to do with the relative level of success of the two companies? Well, as WWE's quality has seemed to decline, so has their ratings and buyrates, it would stand to reason that if TNA ups their quality, their buyrates and ratings will rise. If this continues for any reasonable bit of time, they will be on equal footing.

That doesn't attract casuals, and casuals is what they need to compete. It might keep them there once they get there, but it won't get them there.

TNA's rating are pretty much in the same place they were last year, in the 1.1 range, whether the programming was good, bad, or indifferent. What it shows is that TNA has a core audience that will watch, but they haven't really brought in new people, not long term at least. WWE does a lot better in that regard because they're the big name and they actually advertise.

I agree that TNA hasn't brought anyone new in consistently but, they have shown they can draw in some new people with the Hogan announcement drawing their best rating in a long time. I am saying if they keep up with the good programming, continue to grow and, start advertising, combined with WWE's down turn, we could see a level playing field.

First and foremost, I really believe that advertising is where it's at...moreso than just an increase in product quality (which the quality has picked up, imo) I think that with the right advertising, Sting being brought into TNA could have done wonders for the ratings. Even Kurt Angle could have done well with bringing in more viewers. It's too bad that the only ads I see for TNA are during TNA's commercial breaks. It's not so much decline in the WWE product or increase in TNA product, TNA just needs some kids commercials.

I agree that they need more advertising but, and maybe it's just me, if something peaks my interest, I am going to ask around about. If TNA has a mediocre product and, someone asks a hardcore fan about TNA and all they hear is they suck or they are nothing special, why would they want to watch? Or lets say they tune in because they advertise and the product sucks, why watch? That is why I say getting the product good is the first step. Also, Sting and Angle did cause a ratings bump (not a large one, maybe .2 or .3) with their debuts but, since the product was meh at best, they couldn't keep the people who tuned in. Solid product -> More advertising -> Better word of mouth -> Better ratings Just my opinion though.

wow, after my message of saying TNA is good, a whole bunch of bashing and stupid comments ensue . . . wow. So what if you believe WWE is better? That doesn't give you the justification of being a jerk . . . You really have no justification for flaming people in this thread either.

Luckily TNA doesn't have to count on a decline in WWE product since, here at least, they don't go head to head with any of their shows. But I wouldn't recommend they move time slots to compete with Raw or even Smackdown any time soon, as they will be destroyed. And I don't want them to go up against ECW. Seeing as how ECW is my favorite show, I'd have to not watch TNA since I can't record anything.

The ball is always in WWE's court, I'm pretty sure TNA would be gone if Vince really wanted to kill it.
also, Wasn't there a sticky about not going into the WWE section and saying WWE is stupid, TNA is great? and vice versa?

Well the more TNA produce exciting matches with ACTUAL wrestling then sooner rather then later TNA will be a HUGE competitor with WWE...Hogan or No Hogan... Oh please!! ROH has had the better ring product for how many years now. Yet their still a small time Indy promotion. Its gonna take more than two matches. One of them featuring an old WWE wrestler. The other featuring three men who have never drawn much in terms of business. To challenge a billion dollar company like WWE.
