Its amazing Funaki has escaped the wrath so far. Whats his secret? He is close with Shawn and Hunter I think. Plus he stays over somehow.

two questions: Why did Jim Duggan get released? also, why did so many referees get released? Duggan has been on pay-per-appearance for a while now. I think the date given just refers to when he was finally removed from the roster on wwe.com. Someone mentioned Funaki. I'm suprised he's clung on still, as the theme of this year's cuts has been clearing out a lot of the old-timers and relics from the Attitude Era

If I remember right, the reasoning behind all of the referees being shown the door was that WWE stopped using brand exclusive referees.

Your list is missing Jeff Hardy. Jeff says WWE will allow him to return anytime he wants though.

Boo to the release of the OVW guys I marked for: Spears, Ortiz, and Braddock. Purposely leaving Scotty Goldman off the list, because he just annoyed me.

I'm surprised that there haven't been that many cuts this year. Of course, both Umaga and Kennedy were surprises, but the others weren't really doing much.
Although I do feel that Braddock, Goldman and Spears could all have gone back to FCW for a while, if there was nothing for them to do on the main roster. Each man is really talented, it was an absolute waste.

Did they honestly think they were gonna get away with this name? Barry Allen - Released June 4, 2009 Even if it is his real name, I could see DC not wanting to let them use that in promoting the guy. I wouldn't have known who he was if you didn't bring that up. I'll be honest, I'm not surprised one bit about these releases except for Umaga. Funny thing was that he was released after getting a push. He had wins over CM Punk who was MITB winner before getting released..

Shouldn't Linda McMahon-R (Conn.) be on this list? Yes, that was a C-SPAN Joke.

As do I, but retroactive history says he must have sucked to never get on TV. I still think he should have been kept on, then given a chance in ECW.

I demand a video like this one shortly: Man there was alot of fairly big names released in 2008 and people they actually did stuff with, most of this years releases were pretty much jobbers.
