I loved it. It's one of those I can happily watch over and over without ever getting tired of it.

I loved this movie. I've not seen anything truly better since I first watched it. The ending I'm still man enough to say that I really don't completely grasp it. I have my ideas but I'm not sure even after a 4th viewing. That being said, the ending still in no way devalues the movie for me. It always grates me when a person says they like a movie except for the end. If you didn't like the end, then you really can't say you liked the whole thing. I don't know. Maybe its just a quirk of mine. I didn't say I liked the whole thing. I said I didn't like the ending but the rest was fine. I GET the ending...and I even see how some would like it. It does make sense. I just didn't care for it.

It does make sense. I just didn't care for it. Oh I wasn't necessarily quoting you specifically. I'm speaking in general because I had the misfortune of working in a video store when it came out. I got so sick of defending it. The same can be said for Green Mile or Dawn of the Dead or even Marley and Me. I would just end up recommending Larry the Cable Guy in Health Inspector or Wild Hogs. I guess I enjoy a downer ending. It seems more realistic sometimes. I'm a follower of the Dante Hicks school of thought. On a side note, was it wrong to not let old people know that Brokeback Mountain was not a traditional western. I mean they found out soon after they rented it!

The movie uses the Moss/Chigurh story to set the theme for what the movie is really about, Jones's character coming to terms with a world grown cold and violent. Something that he wants no part of.

It was okay. Never understood the hard-on critics had for this movie.

First hour and a half was excellent. Then the last 25 minutes or so was kind of disapointing to me. Still a great movie overall though.

Bumping since I just watched it yesterday
I thought it was alright, I liked it a hell of a lot more than There Will Be Blood which I bought at the same time
The ending didn't really annoy me cause I heard so much about it being an anti-climax and had prepared myself for one........Having said that, I woulda kinda like some sort of proper ending but eh
Couple of things though, I did like the use of no words at various points throughout the movie to build tension but I kinda thought they overplayed that hand
And Moss may be one of the stupidest, selfish and evil characters I know.......How many innocent people died because that p***k wouldn't give back the money (And I say evil because even after Chigurh told him it would end with him, if he gave back the money he still wouldn't)
I did enjoy it however, Javier Bardem was good and as I said I did enjoy the story and out of the nominees that year I'd have picked this movie however I dunno if for me it was the best movie from that period but thats subjective I guess

I'd like to throw my name in the hat of people who thought the movie was fantastic, and I read like half the book. I should probably finish it.

I thought I liked it...I WANTED to like it...but...I don't think I'll ever waste my time watching it again. It's far too boring.

He said he would let his wife live if he gave up the money but said that he was going to kill him no matter what. So, it can still be considered selfish but he was attempting to live, keep the money and keep his wife instead of dying and losing the money. Nobody wants to die especially if they think that they can make the getaway with his family and money in tact, that was just his character. So he took the risk and... {Spoiler}he died, lost the money, and got his wife killed

I wasn't a big fan, it was a decent enough film, but overall I just remember finishing it and wondering why I sat through it. And then I woke up.

"Don't put it in your pocket, sir. It'll become just a coin like all the others. Which it is." I spent almost all of that scene thinking that the gas station owner was going to get whacked. Geez, that was tense.

Pretty good movie. Some scenes were really good, while others were too slow and boring

I liked it overall, and personally I liked the ending.
On a side note, unfortunately after my last haircut I now have Anton's do.
