You know, one thing I get tired of hearing is "Disney is going to kiddify this and that" and "It wont be good because it'll be G-rated" yada yada yada. People, Disney owns much more than just the Disney brands. They own and put out content under brands such as ABC, Touchstone Pictures and Miramax Pictures. Well, yeah. But if this had said MIRAMAX is going to do "x and such" it would be a different response. Tell me Disney is doing something, I'm looking for the Mousketeers and Jonas Brothers getting roles in it. It's a knee-jerk thing. Well they got to say Disney, because they as a compnay make the decisions, not Miramax.

Didn't marvel DO a smallville-esque show called Gen-X or something I vaguely remember it. I think it bombed incredibly hard.

For a show of it's nature, it did quite well and made it to season 3 (and was renewed for a 4th), but legal situations cut it's legs out from under it. It's not well-received in comic circles because it had nothing to do with any actual Marvel characters (Fox had the license to any actual X-Men-related characters at the time).

Plus that really wasn't much like Smallville. The only real simulartieis are superhero type stuff.

I always thought a live action X-Men show would be kick-ass.

Runaways and Exiles would both be interesting.

Sounds like a great idea to me. Gives some of the lesser known superheroes a chance in the limelight.
Also, maybe Marvel and Disney can work together with Warner Bros. and DC and we can finally get the sitcom, "Rorschach and Deadpool".

I stand corrected, for some reason I thought it had ended after one season. It was sort of an X-men: underclass show with a bunch of new characters coming out of the Xavier Institute wasn't it? I'd hate to find out I've created a whole different show in my head... wouldn't be surprised though. There WAS a Flash live action TV show for a while right? My memory isn't completely bunk right?

This is the sort of show that would really suit the Fantastic Four.
The big thing about them is that you have to get the family dynamic as well as the superpowers and the threats.
With a slow build on a tv show, you can really do that so much better.

If they go the Smallville route I suppose they can make a Spiderman show wherein it's just the daily life of Peter Parker who somehow goes to school with every one of the villains, and the show revolves around Mary Jane.
Peter also never becomes Spiderman.

Okay, what you may be thinking of isn't Mutant X but rather the Generation X made-for-tv movie, which doubled as a potential show pilot. And yes, that one was pretty bad, but no, it never made it past the tv-film stage. And yeah, there was a Flash show. Really cool one.

As for shows, I agree with the poster who said that Punisher: War Zone would make a great series on HBO or Showtime. But we'll probably get Squirrel Girl instead ...

Including a reboot of "Family Matters" featuring the Summers family and their camera hogging next door neighbor, Logan! Couldn't Amadeus Cho be Urkel? I was going with the general opinion among most comic nerds is that Wolverine hogs up all of the screen time in the movies, while Cyclops role has been generally reduced. Which is what happened on Family Matters after Urkel showed up and became insanely popular.

If you absolutely HAVE to have these life action series, do X-Men and Spider-Man from the Ultimates line. Those storylines lend themselves much better to episodic television than the rather...complex continuity of the main stories. Also, the characters are younger, so the Execs that love to "take a character, and make them young" will love that.
