Why was Test called 'Test', does anybody know the logic behind it? To me it always seemed like the weirdest ring name ever, I mean it's just a random word! It's like being called 'shop' or 'wall' or 'glue'. Has anyone else ever thought this?

He debuted as being a roadie/bodyguard for Motley Crue when they played on RAW in late 1998.
I assume the logic behind it was that he was supposed to be the guy who tested the mics, etc. before a show or something. Thus the name Test.

Steve Corino claimed it was a rib on how jacked he was, I'm sure that was all in jest though.

It's quite simple. He was the Test that nobody could pass.

It's like being called 'shop' or 'wall' or 'glue'. Has anyone else ever thought this? Well, one of those WAS a wrestler. One that, ironically, is also deceased.

Can't believe he's dead. That's so strange.
Test sounds like a fancy post-modern name. It would have suited a German guy with a poor sense of expression and understanding of the English language who wore a two-tone full body suit for aerodynamics. Like, he called himself 'Test' because he's thinking "let us see, vich is somethink hard to do or hard to defeat... a rock is strong but haz been uzed... erm... Hey Wilhelm, vas about Das Flamer? That sounds dangerous!"
Um yeah. No matter what though, a name is a name and it just becomes normal sounding after a while. Like Harrison Ford.

I think Edge is a weirder name.
Was he called that purely because when he first came into the WWF, he was a brooding, mysterious figure...thus he had an "edge" to him?
I remember The Rock as Corporate Champion saying "First, you'll have to pass the Test" to someone who challenged him or something like that.

Yeah... I remember that... and I thought that it was strange that the body guard for a band would make their debut the week before they came on.
