Yeah, I thought it was really good, too. Really dark, depressing subject matter. Haven't seen the directors' cut, though.

I've only seen the theatrical cut and didn't care for it. But I might give the Director's Cut a chance.

To help answer the collective question that people don't understand the crap this movie gets...IT'S STARRING ASHTON KUTCHER. At that point in time, that was all the motivation a lot of people needed to loathe this movie.
However, a year or so ago I caught it on HBO or something and gave it a shot. I was pretty impressed with the movie as a whole, but definitely don't regret missing it while in theaters.

It has my respect for being a film starring Ashton Kutcher which I went to see with another dude without any sense of "Dude, it looks like we're on a date..."

Yeah, I think that's unfortunately a lot of what killed it, which is sad, because he's really quite good in this flick.

I didn't like this movie at all, I felt it lacked muched-needed intelligence. The consequences to the characters actions never really made much sense and it got incredibly silly at certain points.

I really liked this movie, but I totally prefer the theatrical ending over the director's cut. I felt the movie was depressing enough without the alternate ending.
