Hey, first post on the TNA board.
Never had much interest in TNA but with their January 04 event I have decided to check them out by watching a special Best of 2009 show of theirs on RDS here in Quebec.
And one thing I notice is how quiet the crowds are. And not just quiet but immobile too. It's like those people don't have a clue what they are watching or don't want to be there. And it's not quiet like the Japanese crowds either. You just feel nothing in the air.
I just saw Mick Foley throw AJ Styles off a King Of The Mountain cell into the ring and the crowd barely popped!
Is it always like this? Why, is the crowd THAT heavilly papered?

I can speak for the Impact Zone crowd.
They pop for everything and nothing at the same time. It's a horrible experience. It's like wrestling crowd purgatory.

The 'This Is Wrestling' chant is rapidly becoming one of my least favourite in all of wrestling, even if it can't top the current King - "What?"
If two guys do a couple hammerlocks and a snapmere they can get a 'This Is Wrestling' going. Sad.
Another reason why getting the hell out of the current Impact Zone whenever possible is a must.

Yea, impact zone crowds tend to suck. Although, the crowd at Turning Point was pretty good.

It's okay, but they do get a lot of tourists who leave partway through.
And with Hogan arriving, it might get worse, with more looky-loos coming and leaving after Hogan comes out.

I like the Impact crowds and I enjoy hearing chants of "This is wrestling" during Aj Styles-Samoa Joe-Daniels and Nigel-Angle matches. Call me crazy for liking when crowds actually enjoy the same thing I do.

When you mix smarks and casual fans, you will get the idiots who chant stupid things (smarks) and the fans wanting to see big names (casual fans). I would rather have the latter, personally, and if TNA is smart they will try to cater to the casual fan more than the other.

Well, when I go, I DO repeatedly call Scott Steiner "Rick".

I was at a TNA House Show one time during Halloween. Borash was trying to get the fans involved into everything. The backstage access. Borash was trying to get the fans in costumes to come in to ringside.
The fans were really loud where I was at. Then again I was sitting near the SMARK fans and I had a couple of TNA MARK fans in front of me making my life REAL FUN!

Count me amongst those oh-so-horrible smarky Impact Zone type fans. I'm one of them as opposed to the fans that don't care about anything and never will, and will probably leave once Hogan is off the camera.
Yep. I actually enjoy the stuff TNA does. Shame on me.

I don't understand why people seem to think people reacting in the Impact zone is a bad thing, would people rather they performed to a dead crowd like the 'E often seems to attract these days? They might be smarky and they might not always react the 'right' way, but at least they react to things and seem like they're actually enjoying the show.

Can we have ONE thread in this section that doesn't mention WWE?
Like I said, there's a difference between cheering and being a lively crowd and being obnoxious.

So no thread then.
And trust me, the Nashville regulars were way worse. Remember the superlame Heel Section?

I've been to three TNA shows, their "First Ever" House Show, Bound for Glory 2006, and this years Slammiversary. The first two were held at a small 3,000 + arena home to junoir hockey team, an indoor soccer team, and where my highschool holds their graduations. Its a good size venue for TNA, the place is small and the crowd seemed loud.
Slammiversary on the other hand was held at the Palice home to the Detroit Pistons its a 20,000 + arena. The place is cheap, since they fight Joe Louis Arena for events, so I dont blame TNA for going there. But being in a huge building the crowd seemed dead, I mean they had the entire upperbowl tapped. Which I figured would happen, so when I got their with my 7 dollar upperbowl tickets, they moved us some decent seats in the lower bowl.

One thing I've learned from the 2 events I've been to and watching Impact/TNA ppvs.....the fans who are vocal and know the product are damn annoying and are way into it.
When I go to a show, I'm quiet and respect the art of it. I HATE people who scream the whole damn time.
And, I realize wrestling is for kids too but they really diminish my enjoyment of it when they are near you. They don't have anything insightful or intelligent to say.
