You would hope that Hogan would have made his vision for TNA clear to the roster, but Styles said he hasn't spoken to him, and apparently Taz doesn't know where he stands. This does seem in keeping with some of Hogan's interviews though.
Doesn't really mention that West had improved substantially in 2009. Also a bit hard to take when Taz is prone to constant cliches and predictable lines. Best in the business? Well, there isn't much competition for that role these days.
In my opinion, professionally, and on the record, I think that it’s not a bad thing if we get back to the basics a little bit. I believe let’s get back to the nuts and bolts of the business. I believe that’s what we need to do. And I don’t know if that’s Hulk Hogan’s vision. I’m not sure. But I hope so, because I think that’s the way we need to go. Let’s get back to basics a little bit.
I am a throwback guy. I am an old school, traditional guy, but I’m not archaic. What I mean by that is that I like wrestling. I like action. I like okay, wrestler A dislikes wrestler B, and they’re going to have a fight. Good. I get that. I don’t want to think too much. Let me get it. Let me see it. Let’s do it

From a professional standpoint, I’m going to be really frank with you, I feel that I’m the best color commentator in the industry, okay? And I don’t make no bones about that, and please print it the way I just said it. I feel I am the best
This is not a knock on Don West, and you can print whatever you want to print as long as you quote me correctly, but from what I saw for a long time, people on the Internet – there wasn’t a huge amount of Don West fans. And I felt bad for Don. The things you were saying he was good at, like sometimes he’d point out the obvious – that’s what you just said. Well, I’ve got to be frank with you my friend. That’s rule number one you don’t do as an announcer – point out the obvious
