As someone who listens to nothing but Rap/Hip-Hop, from the commercial stuff to the most obscure stuff you could imagine, it's practically impossible for me to pick ten to put on a list.

For the record, I like "Below the Heavens" much moreso for Exile's production than Blu's rapping. I thought Blu was a much better rapper on C.R.A.C. Knuckles.

I honestly haven't heard a single album on that list. I think I need to change that soon. Here's mine, including multiple entries by the same artist because I'm something of a newcomer to the genre (only been listening for like...3 or so years): 1) P.O.S. - Never Better 2) Weerd Science - Friends and Nervous Breakdowns 3) Lupe Fiasco - The Cool 4) Sage Francis - A Healthy Distrust ...yup. Hey! Your top 4 is my top 4! Here's the rest of my list. 5. Eminem - The Eminem Show 6. Atmosphere - You Can't Imagine How Much Fun We're Having 7. Kanye West - The College Dropout 8. Lupe Fiasco - Lupe Fiasco's Food & Liquor 9. Brother Ali - The Undisputed Truth 10. Tech N9ne - Everready (The Religion) God that was hard to do. Honorable mention goes to: MF Doom, Jay-Z, Lil' Wayne, Drake, The Game, MURS, T.I., Three 6 Mafia, Ludacris, Common, J Dilla, Kid Cudi, Eyedea & Abilities, Talib Kweli, Juelz Santana, Jadakiss, Ghostface Killah, Ill Bill, and Mos Def. I originally had Relapse in the number 5 spot. That was a mistake. I meant The Eminem Show. I was looking at my copy of Relapse when I picked The Eminem Show, and I typed Relapse.

I'm too lazy to do a top 10 list right now, but I would definitely have "The Marshall Mathers LP" in the top 3, if not number 1. I feel it changed the landscape of rap greatly enough that some of the albums on others' top 10 lists would not have been on said lists, or even made, if not for Eminem's magnum opus (again, my opinion).

I'm not a fan of considering influence or impact when it comes to ranking the quality of an actual album itself. From when I push play to when the lasers stop is all I consider.

almost impossible to pick out the 10 best ones, but I'll try (in no particular order):
2000-2009
Kanye West - College Dropout (unbelievable debut album, super-influentual) The Game - The Documentary (another fantastic debut album) Outkast - Speakerboxxx/The Love Below (Dre & Big Boi on another level yet again) Lupe Fiasco - Food & Liquor (yet another great debut album) ABN - It Is What It Is (just my personal taste, but Z-Ro & Trae are the TRUTH!) TI - Trap Muzik ("I Still Love You" and "Be Easy"!!! need I say more??) Eminem - Marshall Mathers LP (legendary...period) Ghostface - Fishscale (much appreciated album in the hip-hop scene) Jay-Z - Blueprint (nobody mentioned this one??) Nas - Stillmatic (man-oh-man, talk about a perfect comeback album!)
