Come on man, Sheamus has only been in the big leagues for six months, booking him like that is just insanity. The only reasons you would ever book a guy sparingly are if he's A. getting overexposed, B. a novelty act, C. brittle Sheamus is a rookie champ. He literally needs all the exposure he can get, he's gotta be etched in people's minds amidst all of the main eventers, midcard comedy acts, and other s*** that stands in his way. Otherwise this whole run is gonna be a waste of time Exactly. If the WWE Champion is getting complete apathy from the crowd, that's probably a sign that you need to give him more promos and ring time in an attempt to make it work. He's not going to get over by sitting in the locker room all night. Except he's not getting apathy from the crowd at all, he gets a reaction every time and has been since before he won the title. I remember being shocked at how he was getting over, because frankly, I didn't see much in the guy. Only more recently have I started to appreciate what they see in him.

can't believe we are even comparing the two
Brock was so built up by his Summerslam match with Rock that most of us knew he was going to win and when he did the fans went nuts. He was a well pushed monster with the look, the workrate, and the mouth piece in Heyman.
And Shaemus's reign was just a way for McMahon to swerve all the internet fans and show that he wanted to push a young guy, problem is, it was too soon and thats why you see a lack of reaction.
Punk took a beating on these boards, and he got worse card placement than Shaemus is getting and he got reactions night in and night out.
WWE just doesn't know how to develop young guys anymore, they either push them to the moon too quick and watch them fail or don't do anything with them and watch them fail. And thats something the company is going to have to do a better job of or you will have the same guys in the main event scene in 5 years.

Brocks rise and reign is a textbook example of how to book a great wrestler to his strengths and get him over.
Sheamus reign is a textbook example of hot shotting someone who isn't ready and then booking him as an afterthought.
