My childhood was in the 80's but my teen years were during the grunge era of the 90's. Both had an impact on me.

Yep, as others said, I think you should be at least 5 by the end of a decade to be considered a __'s kid, as you can already understand and appreciate (or not) the trends of the time, be influences by them and most importantly, have memories about them.
For instance, I was born in late 1988, but I definitely don't consider myself an 80's kid. Nineties 4 Life!!

I was born in 1989, so I'm pretty much a 90s kid. Wish I was an 80's kid though.

I was born in 74, and the only thing I remember about the 70s was how much they sucked. 80s kid 4life!
