While I mentioned that Guto is voiced by Luffy from the 4kids version of One Piece, I also noticed the VA for Amy Rose on Sonic X as Amanda, and Dr. Crumb sounds like the guy who does most of the 4kids ads.

And what's really horrible is that not only is this an Up ripoff, its a sequel to a Monsters vs. Aliens ripoff! This company is as shameless as the old companies that used to do cheap VHS knockoffs of popular Disney animations.

The next induction planned is going to be the other Monster Chasers ripoff "Big and Little Monsters". ANd just like What's Up, there's plenty of bad animation, and Chinese hatred to be found.

This is typical of direct-to-video companies though, make a knockoff of something with a similar title, and then put it out so clueless parents think its already on dvd. Heck, even Disney did this with their releases of spider-man and hulk cartoons to tie in with the movie (when i worked retail i was sure to inform customers that those tapes were NOT of the theatrical movie).

If you're doing all the Brinquedo stuff, stay away from Gladiaformers (Sp?) which I think is only in Brazilian and Russian and not English. |
