I agree with Hogan on this. The 6 sided ring makes for confusing viewing. You can't tell if the wrestler is getting whipped into the ropes or into the corner, and having turnbuckles on direct east and west points of the ring doesn't look right to me. I don't see how it's such a big deal to be "different" all the time, it's not an inherent advantage over your competition.

I also agree that TNA needs to get rid of the 6-Sided ring. The ropes are so tight that you can't even tell when someone is running them. It makes them look like they aren't even hitting the ropes that hard. I think they need a regular 4 sided 'squared circle'. 20x20 would be best, pretty sure they used 18ft ones in the early years.

Newz. The guys at TNA have to be loving how the internet news takes stuff like this and runs for days with it.

Losing has become a part of the NY Mets identity... don't you think they'd like to change it? We've exhausted every option why TNA isn't latching on with new viewers over the last few years... maybe the non-traditional ring is the reason the casual fan will not get interested in their product? This would be more like the Mets making a change in logo and colors than, losing. The Six Sided Ring is one of their biggest visual identifiers. WWE has the huge sets and arena, TNA has the Lucha inspired ring. On top of that, the ring gives them better options in the cage and UX matches. If the ring is what is keeping people away, well, they wouldn't stick around long if it changed I would wager. But teams do change their logos and colors all the time. The Sixers uniforms were red and then became black and now back to red.

I'm not a big fan of the 6-sided ring, either, but it has become a part of TNA's brand. It's one the few things you can look at other than the logo and immediately know its TNA. Branding is very important in marketing in the U.S. currently, so I hope (and bet) they keep it.
Now as a side note, if this is real, it's not a good thing for Hogan to begin criticizing the company in public right off the bat. It implies that at least he thinks he has that kind of authority.
However, does this not start to smell like a work of some type? Hogan drops these tidbits opposing traditional TNA things, with Dixie apparently backing him. Jarrett and Foley are set up to oppose Dixie in particular, and I'd bet they are just waiting to bring Sting back in to face down Hogan-even referencing the 1997 Hogan-Sting confrontation that was handled so badly, presumably at Hogan's request. Perfect setup for a major feud, IMHO.

I like the six sided ring, although no one really uses it to it's full potential I feel. I think they should totally keep it since it something that sets them apart.

I'm starting to wonder if everything as far back as Karen Angle moving in with Jeff Jarrett has been one long work building up to this. Jeff Jarrett's ousting, Dixie Carter's "my way or the highway" spiels, and now Hogan's weird decrees... it feels like it's building to something.

I've also never understood the "It's different so it's better, or at least good" mentality, which I've seen applied to many things besides just the wrestling business.
To keep the example within the business, Katie Vick was certainly different, but by no means could I call it anywhere near "good."

Thread High-jack...starting baseless Hogan ruining TNA rumors thread...now:
- Hogan is the bald muscle guy attacking AJ
- Russo has already been fired they are just keeping him at TV for internet disinformation
- They are gonna re-launch the NWO and DX in TNA even though WWE owns like every trademark and copyright in wrestling history
- Kimbo Slice vs Brock Lesnar will main event the first Hogan era TNA PPV
Come on guys, add to this. It's no different than the stories that are being posted as facts and it's twice as fun as reading them.

I thought the six sided ring was kind of an eyesore at first. Now I'm used to it, but it doesn't add anything to the program. Guys tend to work in one ring corner at a time regardless of how many there are. This is a non-factor for me either way and I doubt it will add or subtract anything from my TNA watching experience. Well, it might subtract a couple of ring corners.

What exactly is the full potential of the six sided ring? It's not like TNA doesn't have enough cool spots, I can't see anything that great they can do with it.

6 sides of impact BROTHER! honestly I could do with a change to the whole ring area, the Railings are WAY WAY too close to the Ring so it leaves less room for the wrestlers to do anything cool on other sides
The 6 sided ring never bugged me since No Holds Barred and AAA
