Is Jason Rumble of relation to the other "Boston Bad Boy" Tony? Rumble who died 15 years or so ago who was a legend in parts of New England.
Everyone always mentions what great shape Backlund is in and to quote Gorilla Monsoon "You dont get in that shape waiting for the bus"

I feel awful that I'm never going to be in that kinda shape. And he's like 40 years my junior.

Old Bob Backlund is the best Bob Backlund there ever was. You can almost even count the 6 year title reign from 1978 to 1984. I've never seen a guy go from a steriotypical workrate wrestler with little charisma, little personality, no gimmicks, no mannerisms, no catchphrases, and just a plain really good in ring wrestler who got behind the times in wrestling, to all of a sudden being able to develop a one-of-a-kind character, one-of-a-kind charisma, one-of-a-kind personality, a one-of-a-kind gimmick, one-of-a-kind mannerisms, and one-of-a-kind catchphrases literally over night, so much so that people demand that he stay "in character" in real life, as much as Bob Backlund. God bless him.

He's refused induction to the WWE HoF, as he still sees himself as an active wrestler. Still 11 more days to get Bob Backlund a world title so he can be the first* to hold a World Title in 4 consecutive decades. Where's Blue Demon Jr when we need him? (ok, I think Lou Thesz did the same thing, but you get my point)

I've always been hugely impressed by that armlift he does (at 6:30).

anyone else thinks its sad that backlund is wrestling for a promotion whose dressing room entryway consists of a tarp and a cardboard floor walkway? I definitely thought so, there was less fans there than the WWA that does shows here, and that promotion is awful. But he looks great, seems like he has barely aged since his last WWF run in '94. I doubt he would have held up so well if he had any drug/alcohol problems, which is what causes alot of wrestlers to compete well past their prime in small indy feds. He must really just love to wrestle.

Is Jason Rumble of relation to the other "Boston Bad Boy" Tony? Rumble who died 15 years or so ago who was a legend in parts of New England. Magliaro would continue running NWA New England until his death following a heart attack on November 13, 1999. Following Magliaro's death, his wife Ellen Magliaro took over ownership of the promtion which later became NWA Cold Front. Jason Della Gatta, who both runs the day to day operations and competes in the promotion as Jason Rumble, is claimed to be the son of Magliaro's character (there is no relation between the two). The group decided to drop it's NWA affiliation in February 2007. prowrestling.wikia.com/wiki/Tony_Rumble

Backlund will always be awesome. I loved his crazy old man gimmick. I say returns to TNA to wreak havoc on the X-Division.

I'd love to see him go to TNA and confront Hogan for stealing his spot with the crazy old man gimmick. That might be more entertaining and compelling than HBK/Bret.
