I've heard a few people commenting that they think Miz will be a world champion before the end of the year. I don't see it happening so quickly, but I could see it by the end of 2011, but more likely I would say sometime in 2012.

I wouldn't be shocked if they gave him the Jericho treatment and had him beat Cena and Orton in the same night to become Undisputed Champion.

The following world champions will happen in 2010:
Edge Jericho Batista Orton Triple H John Cena CM Punk Drew McIntyre.
But seriously I hope The Miz will become champion by the end of this year. I hope he also has a long title reign because we haven't had a long title reign this year. Hell I hope one show has a long title reign by a new face like John Morrison, R-Truth, Kofi Kingston, etc and another show has a long title reign by a heel like The Miz or Sheamus.

Blah. I feel he'll get the Carlito or MVP treatment, over like gangbusters as a heel then a face turn derails everything.

Answer? He won't. He will get the same treatment as everyone else who gets "built up", he will get massively over as a heel, will turn face, feud with a main eventer, LOSE and then go back to square 1. Then everyone will be begging for him to turn back heel when he is no longer relevent.

I believe he'll be champ by the second half of 2011. His long reign with a midcard championship reminds me of Orton in '03 and/or The Rock in '98.
Then again, MVP had the US Title for damn near a year...

He's already a World Champion. Sure, World Tag Team, but world is world..

I think he'll be WWE Champ by the end of the year. I see the WWE giving him a bigger role on Raw, which results in him becoming champ.
This summer you've got HBK taking time off, Taker in all likelihood taking time off, and Triple H having to take time off (his quad and the birth of his 3rd child). They'll put more into guys like Miz and Sheamus.

I can see the rest of the year being really good for up-and-coming stars. The Miz, CM Punk bumping back to main event status, Kofi, Legacy, Swagger, etc. Which will be nice and fresh to watch over uh, you know..
But I don't think it's fair to associate MVP's shortcomings with everyone else. That was strictly MVP's fault and nobody else's.

MVP did a great job whenever they pushed them and made The Miz seem credible again after John Cena raped him last year...

if he wins a world strap, wwe just pissed in the eye of guys who've paid dues for years and never got a title. and then tna's time will begin as the #1 company.
guys like shelton benjamin, kofi kingston, matt hardy, r truth, elijah burke, and john morrison will have been over looked if the miz wins a title like that.

I'm saying that by all rights, the WWE should strike when the iron is hot and put him up against Edge for the World Heavyweight Title at Summerslam. Not saying he should win it, but start sowing the seeds, so that by this time next year, or at the earliest by October of this year him winning the big belt won't seem so out of place or forced.
Plus, I think putting him against Edge would be optimal, since I can see Edge actually working well on the mic and in the ring, with Miz. He won't eat him alive like a Batista/Cena/Orton would. You'd think Miz would have a credible shot against Edge.

How has The Miz not paid his dues? He's worked harder than a lot of the guys you mentioned to get to where he is now. He went from being hated by absolutely everybody, having no credibility backstage, and being downright awful in the ring to being one of their biggest up and coming stars who, hey, is actually a pretty good wrestler. He's had to do a LOT to get himself to this point after the Cena burial. The Miz paid his dues more than anybody. I think this will be a good year for talents trying to break into the main event. It really seems like WWE has realized that people are sick of Cena, Orton, HHH and Batista. I've predicted World title reigns for Miz, Kofi, Morrison, Punk, and Christian this year.
