Elevate teams? They just jobbed out the entire tag division! Who actually had matches. When was the last time you saw Cade and Murdoch do anything before their stuff against DX? When was the last time they looked like a threat? They lose now, sure it doesn't seem like it did anything for them. But if, and its a big if, they do more in the future and actually impact D-X's matches or, gasp, even beat them (not likely), then it'll be a huge push. Lance Storm once commented that people were upset with how he was used against Austin in the whole "Boring" angle saying that even being in an angle with Austin was a big push. Same thing here. Cade and Murdoch actually look like more than a C grade team.

Well, I think the reason they were brought back (other than for the nostalgia factor) was so that HBK would have an ally to get revenge against the McMahons. The thing is, DX got so popular over time and now that the feud seems to be over (which I damn hope it is), they have to have something new to do. And, while I know that Cade/Murdoch aren't really main event material, I wouldn't just call DX mid-carders just yet. They've just come off a nearly 11 month-long (with the HBK/Vince feud included) feud with the McMahons, so of course they're going to get a little "break" for a while with this Cane/Murdoch feud and not maint evnet RAW every week like they pretty much have been since they've reunited. And honestly, I don't really mind them not being in a main-event feud right now. It's a bit of a breather and it actually lets other people take the spotlight for a while. And that Cade/Murdoch feud isn't going to kill anybody and both teams are seen as credible threats right now, so I say why not?

Cade is one of Michaels's boys from the wrestling school. Same with Kendrick, who is allso getting a good push. Not to say Lance Cade isn't talented, I think he has improved dramatically since the last time I saw him. Murdoch is gold on the stick, and they're not a ridiculous gimmick like Highlanders, Spirit Squad, or Cryme Tyme. (even though I like Cryme Tyme )

Basically WWE's creative is in a holding pattern right now and can't think of any new ideas so they figure let's just rehash stuff from ten years ago.

I quit watching Raw a few months ago, but everytime I read the recaps it seems like the same DX vs the McMahons stuff. Wake me up when they try something new.

Maybe I'm cynical but it seems to me like that DX was only brought back in order to give a flagging HHH an injection of main event momentum. I don't think if HHH's popularity didn't begin to falter that we would even have DX right now. It serves NO other purpose other than to prop HHH's career and prolong his run at the top for longer.
Think about it, there is no need for it right now. The environment isn't right. It's an anomoly in wrestling right now. Unlike 1998 when it was very relevant and important, now it's just......so what?
As I said, I believe HHH is using it merely as a vehicle to get himself back on top. He might be banging his daughter but I don't think even HHH could have persuaded Vince to allow him to carry on as he was. Main eventing every ppv, every TV show, being on the front of every single magazine cover and literally being the poster boy of the company is only sustainable for so long when you're hemmoraging viewers, no matter who you are.
Now HHH can use the DX pops to prove his overness. Prove that he's the hottest thing in the company once more. As soon as he gets that and Daddy-in-law buys it, he'll drop Shawn Michaels and the DX gimmick in a heartbeat.

Then DX can reunite in another 8 years and a 70 year old Heart Break "Kid" can do crotch chops to his wrinkled 98 year old weiner !
