But why play a game with a real instrument instead of playing...a real instrument? I play guitar in real life, but that looks awesome, particulary because it can teach you how to play songs you don't know, and you can translate that to the real guitar in your spare time. For instance, I don't know how to play Rainbow In the Dark, so that'd be cool to learn it on here and then play it with my band ya know? I think it was IGN that also reported they are adding an extra difficulty which is supposed to match the chords and notes of the actual songs themselves, and you can tackle songs that way in the practice mode too.

Raiden slicing up watermelons.

To be fair, there might be a Raiden Fruit Salad Action 3DSWare title.

I think it was IGN that also reported they are adding an extra difficulty which is supposed to match the chords and notes of the actual songs themselves, and you can tackle songs that way in the practice mode too. Pro Mode. All that is reported is that the Guitar, Keys, and Drums are officially getting a "Pro Mode", which, instead of using the 5-colored jewels, you buy a peripheral that will actually simulate performing said song on a realistic peripheral (the 120+ button guitar, the "Squire" that is a real guitar that you can plug into the 360/PS3 and show actual notes, drums will utilize a cymbal and double-step-peddle kit, and keys will have an actual keyboard layout.) However, "Pro Mode" isn't a difficulty, as there is going to be easy, medium, hard, and expert (and expert+ for the case of drums, adding a double kick peddle... good luck on "Battery") Best part, every song ever (short of Network songs and Beatles: Rock Band) will be Pro-Mode (for Drums 100%, Guitar is said to be 100% as well) out of the gate. Yes, you will have to spend a decent amount for the Pro Mode stuff (link: kotaku.com/5561505/how-much-will-those-rock-band-3-pro-controllers-cost) Finally, best news, if you already have a MIDI-ready keyboard, there is going to be a peripheral you plug into your MIDI-ready keyboard so you can play a full-sized keyboard instead. That would be the "Pro-adapter" on the list. Trade off, get rid of the Guitar Hero drums, on Pro Mode, they are useless (but anyone who used them already knows how useless the non-guitar Guitar Hero peripherals not made by Logitech have been.)

Which is just BRILLIANT! Now how can owners tell if it breaks? It is brilliant because now that Red Ring warranty is moot. So rather than fix the problem, they got out of having to fix it when it happens.

Ok, so instead of a Red Ring of Death, the new 360 models will instead switch the power indicator from green to red, so it'll be a Red Dot of Death, instead.

You think that instead of a red dot on a newly made console, they'd try to...I dunno, fix the problem itself.
Tsk tsk, Microsoft.

In all fairness, they're never going to eliminate ALL console failures as any machine has some failure rate. You still need something to tell you if it's died.
