Every DVD cover where the small part actor who became very famous later on gets their face on the cover no matter how little role they originally had There's a whole library of DVD's dedicated to George Clooney having a walk on or bit roll, then suddenly becoming the focus of the cover. Man, people are stupid.

Every DVD cover where the small part actor who became very famous later on gets their face on the cover no matter how little role they originally had The one that annoys me the worst is the original Little Shop of Horrors, where Jack Nicholson was in the movie a total of about 2 mins., yet now he's the star of the movie, if you go by the cover.

Man, people are stupid. Yeah; but it makes sense. If you own the rights to a movie where a future star has a 2 minute cameo role, or a minor role; you're going to advertise that star on the cover to get people to buy it. The DVD cover for Mazes And Monsters uses a picture of Tom Hanks from over a decade after the movie was made.

I'd feel guilty misleading people like that, and I wouldn't wanna do it, if for nothing else going against the grain. And I'd be ashamed of the box art after some half wit photoshops it.

the way the front cover shows... you'd think Mark Hamill WAS the guyver, when he isn't.. infact he plays a cop who gets killed

I hate all the ones previously mentioned, but nothing gets me upset as much as the crimes committed against the Star Wars films. Just take Empire: The original poster: Is replaced with this crap: I would even take the posters created for the Special Editions (the painted ones) over these. The prequel covers are even worse. It looks like cheap photoshop crap.

It makes me sad to see how generic things have become as time goes on. The '70s and '80s had awesome poster art and stuff. Now, you don't even get art. You get half-assed Photoshops.

Man, people are stupid. I think I saw one time where this worked the opposite way: the stars of the film ROUNDERS (and thus, the people on the initial VHS cover) were Matt Damon, Edward Norton, and some chick that was pretty much pegged as a breakout star in the making. Well, she fell into obscurity since then (as evidenced by how I don't know her name), and nowadays the cover just has Damon and Norton.

The Godfather didn't get a terrible DVD cover compared to its theatrical poster Pt. II however, yeesh Looks like it should be a scotch ad, not an oscar winning film

i cant find it, but i remember a friend of mine had the 2004 Punisher movie on dvd he got at Wal-Mart...and the cover didnt have Thomas Jane on it AT ALL...just a giant pic of John Travolta and then in the corner you see a small punisher skull. i believe it was when the movie first came out.

The ubiquity of MGM covers here is no coincidence. [bitter]Thankfully Rollerball already had a giant James Caan face or the art would've been as poor as the nonanamorphic transfer.[/bitter]
