There's always a big release every year. Not huge, but bigger than the usuals. In 2005, it was Christian. In 2006, it was Kurt Angle. In 2007, it was Booker T. In 2008, it was Bobby Lashley. In 2009, it was Mr. Kennedy.
Who'll be the surprise release of 2010?

From an international perspective, Khali makes absolutely no sense.
MVP, on the other hand:
-basically admitted to marijuana use in an interview -currently yet another midcard face on RAW that offers nothing unique in terms of character, crowd reaction, etc. (Khali is at least huge) -can't tour in alot of countries due to felony conviction
I'm guessing it will be him at some point after Mania.

- That article was wrong, he actually said that a troop was telling him about a plant. Not that he smoked the plant.
- The only country he can't tour in is Japan.

Khali simply because WWE has made much dumber decisions
I wouldn't be shocked at MVP but I'd still be mad Honestly Kozlov,Rhodes,Dibiase and Kofi should be on the list as it's just as probable they'll be leaving

Just a small nitpick: I don't think RVD was released. I think his contract ran out and he had no plans to re-sign.

Most of those releases from previous years were guys asking for releases/not signing contract extension/not going to rehab (fearing he would die under the company). In fact Christian or RVD weren't releases because their contracts expired and they refused to sign a new one. So really only Angle, Kennedy, Lashley were the only ones to be released and only Kennedy got flat out fired with no excuses.
I voted Khali because for some reason, I think he'll quit or retire or not wanting to sign a contract extension this year or something.

^ Yeah, I'll be honest and say I couldn't find anybody from 2007 lol . So I just threw in RVD, I threw in Rey Mysterio cause I figured he might do the same thing.

Let's see, they seemed to have forgotten all about Kofi, ditto with MVP. (Although he is getting up there in the age) Mark Henry might be thinking of leaving since he's been there for fourteen years and he's probably saved up his money. And Matt Hardy they seem to have no use for him except as a scapegoat for whoever they are pushing now.
Personally I wouldn't be surprised if Matt leaves WWE this year and decides to join Jeff, (Considering his trial goes well) Shannon, and Gregory down in Orlando.

No excuses that we know of or have been publicly revealed by the E. I think Anderson himself knows why.

If Mark Henry didnt go after the horrible Batista feud, then he wont go now. I say MVP.

Kofi. He was building up, and they felt good enough about him to put him in a feud with Orton. But then, there was something they didn't like about the guy, they jobbed him out, and now he's not doing anything.
I bet they're waiting for an excuse.
