What the hell is the name dropper? I think it's the fan name for the sleeper Dolph Ziggler's been using.

Why not? It should be a good match and maybe Benji can parlay this match into bigger things.

Swagger vs. Shelton would play out exactly like Sheamus vs. Bourne; they'd get five minutes in matches somewhere in the middle of the card while the "real" main eventers still had the show built around them. The Swagger/Shelton segments would play out exactly like any other midcard feud, except that Swagger would be carrying around an extra prop.
A Swagger/Shelton feud at this time wouldn't elevate either of them, and would make the championship look even more unnecessary than it already does.
No thanks.

Give me 1 reason why I shouldn't say "GTFO"? Let's see.... Terrible gimmick, tossing a great finisher in the T-Bone Suplex in order to trade to the usually downright abysmal Paydirt (and even when done well it isn't any good), general lack of any of the stuff he is physically capable of doing in anything but ladder matches, total lack of charisma, awful theme music... Plus, even back when I did enjoy him the only matches of his I can actually remember liking were guys who were pretty talented anyway - Christian, Michaels, Triple H, Jericho... Really, only Shelton Benjamin match I've enjoyed in years was the one with the Undertaker last year on SmackDown. DING DING DING! We have a winner. Shelton is too painfully dull to ever be enjoyable. Swagger needs to be feuding with top guys now to solidify his status anyhow.

It would be a good match to make Swagger look strong going into a match with Edge, Jericho, or both.

I sure do, it'd be a great wrestling match.
Speaking of the amateur-style wrestling, anyone remember the rumors of Angle and Lesnar having an amateur-style wrestling match sometime in 2003? I marked when I first read that.

I expect Benjamin to be getting pinned by Swagger this week. Or promptly forgotten about.
I'd like him further up the card but it's Edge (or Jericho) that's needed to make Swagger credible as a main eventer right now.

Yes please. And an amateur match between them would be amazing.

He spent the past few months feuding with a guy known for dressing like whatever the RAW guest GM played last week on the Lifetime Movie, then someone realized he still existed and arbitrarily put the title on him. A feud with Benjamin can only be a step up.

Why not? It should be a good match and maybe Benji can parlay this match into bigger things. If he couldn't do that against Triple H or HBK, no chance in hell of it happening with Thwagger. Could they have a good match? Yeah. Shelton might even stand a chance, especially if there's a ladder involved. Should they feud? No. It would be a step back for Thwagger and, as usual, a step sideways for Benjamin. I say sideways because he won't drop any further and he damn sure won't gain any ground.

I think Shelton could make a good, short feud work. He was doing a lot better as someone who helped make new stars toward the tail end of ECW. Shelton did all the work in the aborted Sheamus feud; the problem there was that Sheamus completely screwed it up, what with Sheamus' inability to emote, cut a decent promo, or actually act like a heel.
Given that Swagger has been catapulted to feuding with the likes of Edge and Jericho, a feud with Shelton will seem like a big step down unless they hold Edge/Jericho off for some time.
Shelton can make Swagger look good in the ring, and after being a JTTS on Raw for the better part of a year, that can only help the new champion.

This would an uber elevation for Shelton, and one his mic skills can't warrent.
We need to be able to buy Swagger as a champ, which means he needs to work with someone who can not only help in the ring, but help with his promo and mic skills as well.
Shelton cannot do that. At all.
