WWE has booked ECW World Champion The Big Show as an unstoppible monster. He's defeated Rob Van Dam, Sabu, Ric Flair, Kane, destroyed Batista and The Undertaker, and so on. The question is, who will beat him and become the next champion?

Well, Armstrong and Zombie would then have an epic feud over it, culminating in a no ropes barbed wire match where Zombie's arm gets tangled in the barbed wire and falls off.

Tommy Dreamer. Honestly. No one has embodied ECW more than Tommy has, with the possible exception of Stephanie McMahon during the Invasion angle , and he would be the perfect person to get one over on "sell out" Paul Heyman and take the belt off of Show.

RVD from a storyline POV it makes sense as Paul screwed him out of the title

RVD-Too worried about getting high and missing spots to be pushed as World Champ now
Sabu-Has had his shots and now should be pushed back down to the upper-mid card
Sandman-The WWE will never put it on him cuz they only see him as a cane swinging drunk
Tommy Dreamer-The WWE only sees Dreamer as a guy who can put guys over, plus anyone remember his mini feud w/Show in the first few weeks of the return of ECW? He got his ass handed to him
Terry Funk-OLD and will never come close
CM Punk-Bingo! But it has to be at Wrestlemania after a big build up

Chris Benoit.
I can honestly see Benoit returning to Smackdown for a short time and then moving to ECW. I see Benoit beating Show at or after Survivor Series for the belt and defending it against RVD at WrestleMania.

Benoit would be a good choice. Plus, he's an ECW Original.

Tazz. He finally gets tired of what's going on and gets up from the announce table. He says he's taken out big guys his whole career and he's going to do it again, one last time, in the name of ECW.

I really like the Taz idea. I wonder if his neck is OK?, last time I knew it was in bad shape. Plus, I'd love to see that little Porker back in an ECW ring.
Nobody has said Masato Tanaka yet.............and probably for good reason. My bet is CM Punk. They are pretty much telegraphing it right now.

I think Big Show as ECW champ has been the best thing for him in many years. It has really helped make him feel like an unstoppable, serious, main eventer. I think they should ride out the Big Show at least until the December PPV. Personally, I think RVD is the best choice, though I would mark out more if it were Sabu. RVD and Sabu are really the only wrestlers whom I could see as ECW champs following Big Show, despite having Credible, Sandman, and Dreamer on the roster (3 former ECW Champs).

Sabu has already lost to Show 3 times that I can recall, so I doubt he has a chance.
I dont think WWE sees Sandman as anything more than just a novelty act, IMO hes like the "Kane" of ECW. One of their more over stars, but not in the main event.
I doubt Tommy will be champion because I think I recall him saying he never wanted to be ECW champion before anyway.
Terry Funk...no.
The only logical choices, IMO, would be RVD and CM Punk. The question with RVD is does Vince trust him enough to give him another chance. I'd say yes, hes a strong possibility.
Seems pretty obvious they clearly have huge plans for CM Punk, hes getting a solid push and hes been very over with the crowds. If he gets a main event push, I doubt it would happen until Wrestlemania. Granted its several months early, but it wouldnt surprise me if Punk won the Royal Rumble.

Incidentally, I voted for RVD as well. Punk is the wrestler who should either beat Van Dam for the title or beat the wrestler that beats Van Dam.
