I wouldn't be entirely surprised if they were considering using McIntyre in this spot, and decided to push Swagger instead when Drew wasn't getting over as quickly as they'd hoped. If they are counting are Drew getting over then that will be the day Team Rocket actually succeeds in a plan of theirs working.

A more appropriate title for this thread would be: "Should McIntyre bein Chavo Guerrero's spot right now?"

I think so, at least he's gotten some sort of build as opposed to jobbing to Santino.

Hell no. I'm no fan of Swagger, but he's at least twice as good as McIntyre in every aspect.

No, because McIntyre has shown absolutely NOTHING. The WWE have given him the IC title, an awesome theme song, and a cool finisher, and he is still boring.

Drew shouldn't even be in his own spot right now. He has Dolph Ziggler's belt. There aren't enough expressions to describe how right this post is.

No because Drew's already an Intercontinental champion and should be able, in a perfect world, to challenge for the heavyweight belt on Smackdown on his own merits. Like him or not, it's apparent that WWE sees a future company mainstay in the Drew. Until recently, the same could not have been said about Swagger.
Swagger needed to win MITB. He was going nowhere on Raw. Like him or not, Swagger brings legitimacy to the ring with his background and has, imo, a great finisher that could get quite over if used right. Putting him on Smackdown was a smart thing to do as it adds someone to its fairly stale main event scene.
Swagger winning also illustrates what, imo, is the main importance of MITB. MITB should not be won by main eventers, guys who can get title shots on upcoming ppvs. At this point, people like Punk or Jericho shouldn't even be in that match; the Ted Dibiases, Shad Gaspards, the Swaggers of the world should be in the match, people who need to win something dramatic to take the next step forward in their career.

I'm far from a huge Swagger mark. His mic work still seems a tad awkward, and his push trajectory could be alot smoother. But let's not forget he was already a midcard champ (ECW) and at least has the beginnings of a marketable gimmick and persona "All American American". Drewy has...zilch. WWE will abort pushes (Ted Jr. is the most glaring example) if the guy involved simply isn't over enough to justify it. Eventually Drew's will go down the tubes too.
